Yes!! I have a slight addiction to masquerades, so I absolutely needed to include one in ATQH!! (It’s my secret life goal to attend a masquerade ball irl.  I have a mask, actually.  I juts need to be invited to one.)

It is in my plans that eventually Hermes and Fallon make up, but it might not get shown in the book.  They do care about each other, and Fallon never intended to end on bad terms with anyone, but Hermes betrayed her trust and lied to her (even if his lie didn’t hurt anyone), and she already has trust issues.  Also, like I mentioned in the snippet, Hermes only revealed his lie because he found out that the lie had more truth than he thought.  He found out that rather than being an orphan as he always thought, he actually had a family, or at least a mother.  And of course Fallon’s jealous of that, because more than anything she wishes she could have her mother back.

Agh, to hear that my silly little writing made you tear up... that means a lot to me! It means it’s working!!  And please do read those excerpts!! Yeppp.  Kristopher’s entire family sucks.  I just want to punch all of them.  (and so does Fallon...)  Especially Pierre (his father).  Because the main reason his brothers are so shitty is because their father took them under his wing and taught them how to be Class A Assholes.

And, yeah.  I also feel really bad for his sister.  But, like I said, she’s the only family member Kris invites to the wedding (or even tells about it), and she and Fallon get along like a house on fire, lmao.  Kris light-heartedly regrets it, because they get along so well, and it’s a little bit of an “oh fuck, now there’s two of them” situation, cause his sister is also very smart and headstrong like Fallon. 

She would totally help Fallon get ready for the wedding, since Fallon doesn’t have any family left, and they’d just chat and it would be really sweet.  She would totally wind up telling some embarrassing shit about Kris, lmao.  But more importantly, I can totally see her telling Fallon how happy she is to finally see Kris happy and not miserable, and it would just be so cute.  Ugh, I’m getting emotional about this.

THANK YOU for caring so much about my little WIP.  ATQH is my passion project, and the loml.  It’s been a constant hyperfixation since January, and I can’t wait to see where it goes.  Your interest in it means the world to me, and seeing your tags makes me happier than you can possibly imagine, and I hope you continue to enjoy it.

Alllright, lovelies! Depression is Kicking My Butt™ right now (hence why I haven’t been very active) so IT’S TIME TO TOSS RANDOM POSITIVITY AT PEOPLE HOORAY

Below are some absolutely brilliant writeblrs who have recently been some MASSIVE inspirations of mine! Not to mention their content is just... *chef’s kiss* the BEST.

@livvywrites - Larissa’s Crown has just had me CAPTIVATED. I’m in love with Livvy’s deep world lore and the AMAZING worldbuilding behind each of the separate races, and just... space opera! FULL of fun shenanigans! MY FAVE. And then!! The templates you made are so lovely and informative, and the universe you’ve created is so immersive, and... gosh, I just LOVE your writing and creativity so much.

@ardawyn - BEAUTIFUL edits, GORGEOUS imagery, AMAZING characters, and all in all a writing style that invokes a lovely medieval feeling to the whole thing? Seriously, Sophie’s word choice and description blows my mind! The pictures in my mind that her writing paints is! So vivid, so REAL, I can feel that cold wind or sand or hillside, I FEEL SO SMALL when imagining those mountains, I’m in awe at the colours, and the shapes, and the majesty of it all! And she conveys character dynamics so powerfully, sometimes with only a few words she can have you knowing just how far two characters would go to protect each other. <3 

@surroundedbypearls - Yeah I may or may not be deeply invested in To Catch The Sea a tad too much. Adam is?? So helplessly in love??? He’s like a love-sick puppy and yet he’s SO lost on what to do!! The pining is KILLING ME! I can’t stop reading!! And he’s just such a lovable bean and they both are so cute AHHHH. AND THEN THE WORLDBUILDING. I’ve only seen hints of the setting’s lore, but what I HAVE seen is so so intriguing!! Tattoos and trials, Dragons and Chimeras! SO SO COOL.

@holotones - I haven’t had the chance to interact with Haeji very much but from afar, let me tell you, THEY MUST HAVE MADE A DEAL WITH A DEMON, ‘CAUSE THEIR WORK IS SPECTACULAR. Characters chock-full of lovably snarky and stubborn personality? Check. Outrageously glorious worldbuilding that just draws you right in? CHECK. AMAZINGLY unique and incredibly well executed story concepts? YEAH, GO HECKIN’ CHECK OUT HAEJI’S WORK.

@vespatrix - I’ve been lurking a lot lately just ‘cause I’m lacking a lot of motivation to interact, but just... Verveine’s edits blow me away each time. The colour balance, the images and textures, the wonderful frames and font choice! Ahhhh, I fall in love more with their story every time. And that’s not even mentioning the creativity and the REAL feeling to all of their story’s lore! The magic, the power, the beautiful, mythological feel! The characters’ individuality, the clear personality! INSPIRATIONAL.

@harehearts - A+++ art, I love that Waya’s characters are all so immediately identifiable--even without necessarily knowing what they look like in wolf form, I can make some pretty darn great guesses based on expression and build alone--seriously though, Benji’s lanky legs are just. My favourite. Benji is my favourite in general. Please leave Benji alone at least ONE of these days???? Plez???? AND THEN THERE’S THE WORLDBUILDING. I love the amount of research Waya has put into their work? It’s so obvious how much they love their stories and characters, and that love is simply contagious.

@abalonetea - I am CONSTANTLY being inspired by Katie. The amount of work she churns out? Is ridiculous? AND IT’S ALL SUCH HIGH QUALITY. Katie’s writing is just so emotional and deep and beautiful to read, and that’s including her little short stories that are maybe a few paragraphs long BUT FEEL LIKE FULLY FLESHED OUT STORIES AND WORLDS. Her worldbuilding is so wonderfully creative and her character dynamics are so, so GOOD. Honestly an idol of mine.

Hey!! This message made me so happy, thank you <3<3 I’ve also been very inactive like a month now :D This semester and final season haven been stressful even though I really don’t have that many courses. Also I’ve written barely anything :D When this week is over I’ll also finally do the catching up!!

I’m probably most proud of this painting of Ilmatar, though it still needs a couple of small tweaks.

Please share too things (or share links if you have posted stuff!) you’ve been proud of! And anyone else who happens upon this post too! I’ve probably missed everything I haven’t been tagged into. Then I can catch up with all the cool stuff you have been creating!

answer me this: how are you so freaking amazing? ( 3 paragraphs minimum required )

Three paragraphs?  Damn ok.

So why Castor May is amazing?  We all know the answers as well as we know how to breathe, why we must eat, and how to blink (sorry to remind you) without thinking about it.  But I think what gets us the most about Castor, what’s so confusing and baffling about how amazing she is, is that it all comes from a sense of empathy and love for others that’s extremely lacking in what we see of modern day society.  Here’s the deal: social media especially paints a shitty world with nothing good in it.  And then Castor rolls up.  She cares about everyone and has time to talk to you individually, advice and compliments and genuine love.  You don’t expect it.  It’s so raw and real you may not even know what to do with it, but she gives it to you without asking for anything in return.

She also creates incredible stories.  Faultless is one of my favorite wips I’ve seen on this website and the content that Castor offers up is constantly fascinating and high quality.  Every chapter is exciting as fuck and makes me want to write individual reviews for the paragraphs within.  Where Kiera Lies looks just as exciting and is entirely different from Faultless, proving that ya girl can write more than one genre without batting an eye and like, who is she?  How?  I don’t know many I stick to my personal ‘what the fuck’ genre like a troll under a bridge.  

Finally, she makes amazing graphics and resources for the writer community like it’s her damn business to do so.  She works a full time JOB, guys.  She writes!  She has a life!  And yet she still pumps out things for us to use for free, asking nothing but to be tagged in them when they’re used so she can look at what you made and enjoy it.  Again, saint levels here.  I’m scared and excited all at once by how cool Castor is.  While I have you, please donate to her ko-fi because I think ya girl wants to get into graphic making as a business and we should support that endeavor as much as we can when we are not poor as shit.
