Haha, that scene was born out of the contradiction between me wanting the player to be able to flirt with all of the characters and the absolute absurdity of having flirting present in a scene like that. I had to rewrite it a couple times to get it right, because it was just really hard to not make it dark as hell lmao. The MC can just be soooooo unhinged. I'm really glad it landed for you! 😂

I was actually considering making that roll impossible just as a gag, but I consider savescumming to be a pretty integral mechanic for games like this and I thought it would be rude to make someone think they had an 8% chance when they actually had a 0% chance lol. Although I might use that gag at some point, I'll probably communicate it by doing something ridiculous like having the target be 20 or something

Love the update ! It was wonderful to go back to Emerson 💕 New Kid sleep walking is a great way to introduce their (possible) ptsd about what happened. I loved that their trauma is shown through various actions or descriptions (like their eyes or thing as simple as thinking about a car) but never directly adress. New Kid refuse to dive into thoughts or memories about THAT night. They want to annahilate any remembrance about it, but their body's reaction (and subconcious) betray them. Love how the silence is doing the talking! 💕

And OMG but New Kid's mom is ruthless lmao. If the story took place in another city then I would believe that she was just gifting Marie's mother a shoulder to cry on, but we're in Emerson bitches. We're literaly two second away from NK's mom voluntering them to go play the "big sibling" role to Marie's lil bro lmao.
