Story idea dump #3 - because I have way too many ideas 24/7
COAST GUARD AND RESCUE DIVER AU
The team works together as coast guards, and a search and rescue squad on sea. Their ship is called ‚The Avenger’ and part of the local emergency response team. Clint is the only one not permanently on the team. He is the island‘s best diving instructor and gets called in whenever the situation needs an experienced rescue diver. He likes it quiet and lives outside of town, where he doesn‘t meet a lot of people. („Tourists? The smart ones book my courses. The stupid ones end up stuck in caves thinking they know better than the ‚no diving‘ signs“ ) . Each of them has their specific role on the team. It also includes Sam, who changed over to their team from being a para-rescue after losing his best friend Riley.
Bucky is the last one to join. He‘s Steve‘s best friend and comes back from the military. Tony is thrilled because he is the first person to wear his prosthetic arm prototype. Tony is the mechanic of the team. It‘s his ‚hobby‘ next to running Stark Industries. It started as something he did to piss his father off, now he‘s invested in giving the rescue teams the best tech to rescue people and keep the island safe. Bucky wonders why Clint is the way he is- reckless, determined to a ridiculous unhealthy level, almost anti-social. He keeps pushing the interactions until someone tells him about the incident that marked the only person that Clint wasn‘t able to safe. Bucky starts to understand and makes it his mission to make Clint understand that there is more to his life and job than punishing himself for losing that person.
