Silver Light

237 words A surfboard longs for attention

The waves splashed across the moonlit shore. A hand graced the flat top once more, the surfboard placed in the sand as the waves rolled.

It thrilled at moments like this, every single time it happened. Being placed in the sand to watch the dark skies, to exist on the beach with no others. None except the human that couldn't sleep...and the silver goddess in the sky.

Being placed in the waters that were lucky enough to play with her magnetic force. The waves touched by the wondrous light above. And how could they not dance? Every time the wood hit the water and was gently pushed out further and further into them, it wanted to dance as well. To play.

The board desired nothing more than to climb the waves and get closer to that incredible orb in the sky. The moon drew closer at every crest, and further at every fall. Every new wave was a chance to see her beauty. Every touch of her silver beams felt like the moon was reaching back.

Did the moon see it? Did the moon understand?

Did it matter?

There was a spray of ocean water as the human tumbled into the water once again, the wave catapulting the surfboard high into the night.

No. It did not matter if the moon saw the surfboard.

Because the surfboard saw the moon. And fell in love every single time.
