It is #orangeshirtday as we acknowledge the first ever #nationaldayoftruthandreconciliation here in #canada. My partner’s children have Metis heritage via their mother’s bloodline and so this issue is close to home for our extended family. And I learned much this week about the atrocities of the past while listening to a fellow member of the #writersunionofcanada share memories of life as an Inuk in Canada’s high north who was scooped up in the residential schools fiasco.
