okay, fellow writers on tumblr, i need to know what you think about this it comes to engaging with fics:

do you prefer for people to comment all their thoughts/analyze the story/compliments on your work in the comments or reblog them underneath?

i just finished reading a particularly interesting fic with a lot of layered out interpersonal relationships, and i was going to comment underneath my love of it and how i liked the intricacies of the characters, but it i’m worried that its too much block of text !

am i overthinking it?? lol

TLDR: is it better for readers to deep dive into your work through comments or reblogs?

Writing yuri is terrible after reading baru cormorant because I keep thinking "ah, yes. overt symbolisom and pre-industrial covert missions are the sexiest thing in the world. Because everyone loves baru cormorant." and then I remember that baru cormorant is popular because baru fumbles hot women, not because the imperial navy is cool and the conflict between falcrest and the oriati mbo is fun and interesting. (WHICH IT IS)

anyways here's to me trying my hardest not to put pre-broadside naval warfare into my sweet sister kissing yuri incest even though I think boarding actions are really hot. :/

and don't even get me started on econimic policy. Do you know how hard it is to stop these fuckers (points at my deeply, deeply autistic headmates) from waxing poetic when I even so much as mention a counting house? I need to save my effort for cute sister cuddles, but the wretched geopolitics headmates want to have a flashback scene about how the Dame Bellport and Lyris seized the treasure ship The Ark Of History so that Lyris can give little nuggets of exposition about one of the many crisises facing the kingdom.

anyways heres another peek behind the yuricest curtain. We're probably going to incorporate some of the elements of the overarching plot to advance the yuri, but for realzies, The Crow of Ilhiros is about sisters fucking tenderly first and the politics of Ykanna second. Even if those sisters are important to the politics.

Writing has become a chore.

No heartache for fuel.
