Akalazir Ri, Ake Anjisor (She/her)
The star of our series, the one and only heir to the throne of Ykanna. She’s kind, she’s got a gift for leadership, and she’s not a half bad at navigating court politics. just one slight issue; everyone in her life—and sometimes even she too—is under the assumption she’s a boy. But that’s probably not going to last for much longer, since her younger half-sister caught her girlmoding outside the palace one cold summer’s night.
Lyris Xale-Anjisor (She/her)
Born out of wedlock to the King Akalazir of Ykanna's wife, Lyris has spent most of her life being used as a pawn by her father the king, to the extent that she spent a year as the king’s loan collateral at the court of a Duke. She came back from the experience changed; literally. Since then she’s more than proudly declared herself a woman, and a scoundrel. Really she’s been rather lonely since her return, but after a chance encounter one night with her half sister, she’s got a feeling she won’t be so alone for much longer.
Lunzak Ara, Xalka Yukarizh (He/him)
Loose tonged and clever, the twin brother and sole heir of the poor highland duchess Lunzidak, he's almost certainly an earpiece for a brewing rebellion, especially after his aunt was executed for trying to start a rebellion of her own. He clearly doesn't respect Lyris, but he seems to at least feign some level of respect for Ake.
Yythel (She/her)
A maid, she seems to be quite senior, and is smarter than she lets on. Ake is quite fond of her, though, she seems to be taking less and less shifts as of late.
Bellport Ri, Kome Onoko Riawyys (She/it/they)
Bride of the moon and sea, the daughter of a pirate and a duke. She is an explorer, an adventurer, and occasionally a force of ruthless animal violence; living proof that either divinity is false or else powerless to stop her. Bodies taken from all meaning wash up on shore in the wake of her just as much as coin and glory nip at her coattails.
