English/writing major problem

Me during class: you know! I happen to like everything we read, or at the very least can appreciate the craft of everything we read? All of my classmates need to stop complaining

Also me: if I have to read one more story about a sadsack who struggles with Disillusionment and Crushing Horniness, I will cut a man

Young adult author I follow on twitter: we should try to write books with characters who are different from us, or at least not completely the same as us. And we should do it respectfully. This will make us better writers and people. I might be cynical about our world but I'm still idealistic about humanity and the importance of children

Literary fiction author I have to read for class: anyway here is my novel, Crude and Self Deprecating Vision of the Future That's Really Our Time But I'm Being Pretentious About It. Here is a reference to my fav classics author, if you don't know him fuck off!! I'm writing just like him, but modern. My narrator is me except with a different name. My main character's love interest is the same ethnicity as my wife. The ending is SAD, NOTHING is okay and everyone is dissatisfied. I have won several awards

The world of business is doomed

The business majors in my Business Writing class are so fucking dumb. My peer-reviewed papers depress me. They literally correct me for doing shit they’re not even smart enough to know is correct. But of course they’re smarter than me because they’re business majors (collapses on floor in rage)!

Wow reading through my studio pieces this semester is painful. Like Why did I think these were acceptable to be seen by other humans??? I wanted to do a revision this round, but I honestly just hate the pieces I've already done! Fuck my life right now. I HATE writing fiction for a teacher who likes high literary works. I HATE writing high literary fiction. Can I please just write about magic and gun fights and psychics without feeling judged by my teacher? God, this semester's studio is gonna suck.
