Thinking about the thing I'd mentioned earlier and here's what I've thought of-

Vivi and Arthur in this au are childhood friends, which helps explain why neither of them realize exactly what's going on. Since they're nearly constantly around each other, they balance each other out. Vivi's gifts of repealing spirits and such keeps malevolent or nefarious beings from going at Arthur too much. While Arthur's draws spirits of a smaller scale to their group so Vivi and Lewis can actually experience the paranormal phenomenon. When the two are apart, things go sideways pretty quick. Vivi doesn't get any interactions with anything spooky while Arthur is somewhat harassed by the spooks. When this happens it's usually chalked up to Arthur's bad luck being in play.

When Vivi and Arthur first met in childhood, their abilities were weaker than they are in their current ages. So when they'd first started hanging out, Mystery had immediately caught on to Arthur's uniqueness. At first he didn't want to get involved with the boy, wanting to keep Vivi safe from possible dangers. However once it'd become clear that Vivi adored Arthur, the kitsune decided to take Arthur under his protection. At least till his charge was old enough to naturally keep things away. The two grew up, along the way meeting Lewis later in their school years and the three become inseparable as well. Lewis in all of this is hilariously the only normal one. The tallest member is pretty mundane and is unintentionally the middle ground that fuels the Arthur attracting ghosts is just bad luck because Lewis has seen ghosts too on the trips so surely it's nothing more.

This premise would be more of a comedy type of deal with the confusion of where's the spooks Vivi and spooks need to leave me alone Arthur. It'd have the beloved ot3 of course, though the main shenanigans would be done through Vivi and Arthur.

At least that's what I'm thinking so far.

Underused premise:

Older sister, younger brother. Both dangerously skilled in combat. Enough of an age gap that she used to rest her elbow on his head but close enough that her last growth-spurt finished not long before his first big one started ie a gap 2.5-3.5 years so that when he is ~13 she is ~15-16. In this manner she grew up as his big sister, his protector, friend, annoyance, and accomplice and has filled these roles for as long as she can remember. As she finishes puberty, his starts in earnest, shooting past his big sister, while he is still her little brother in her heart, but he can glare at you from above her head, and he has to visibly slouch to rest his chin on her shoulder while she still has fond memories of comfortably resting her elbow on his head.

As the little brother grows taller than his (admittedly shortish) big sister and his shoulders broaden and his voice stops cracking, the dynamic shifts, Big Sis will always be willing to fight for her brother, but now Little Bro isn’t so little anymore and can hold his own AND watches his sister’s back. Now, the shoe is on the other foot and the younger brother is his older sister’s protector.

Whilst her brother was small and young, she took combat lessons, starting when she hit double digits, but he still got to act like a little kid. As time passed and she grew in her skills, her little brother hit double digits and started his combat lessons. As they grew in their skills and developed their personal weaknesses into strengths, they sharpened their lessons into styles personal to each sibling.

Sci-fi writing premise:

If you have rapid cloning of bodies (e.g. vat-grown, no mental development)

And you have mind transfer tech, a la Altered Carbon and a bunch of other high-tech stories

Then (if you're rich enough / have good enough healthcare / have medical access)

You could grow and migrate into a version of your body that doesn't have chronic or fatal illnesses, possibly even genetic ones, or doesn't have the effects of stress or bad nutrition

Or of course of the sex of your choice, that would be pretty easy as well with some extra DNA

“Succubus is a job Title”

Just had the idea for a raunchy comedy where not enough demons want to go into the career of being a succubi/incubi these days that a trade school has to open its doors to other supernatural creatures and weirder things like humans, robots, and aliens.

Here’s a Fun Idea

No idea if this has been done before in this specific way. If it has, please don’t hesitate to let me know. Either way.

Imagine a villain who’s set on the standard goal of domination in a world of superheroes, but the only hero available in their city/sector/county/whatever to combat him is an unexperienced hero with massive self-confidence issues. So unheard of the villain doesn’t even realize there’s a superpowered individual around to combat them. During the first clash between them, the villain notices the hero’s low confidence and personal issues. And being established as someone who values good sportsmanship, takes the hero under their wing and consistently helps build both their confidence and their abilities. Over the course of their story their bond only gets stronger and more personal, with the villain teaching the hero healthy ways to overcome his vulnerabilities and insecurities. Before the villain realizes what’s happened, they’ve accidentally fully reformed themselves and gone from an aspiring supervillain to the hero’s mentor.

And if you want that extra emotional depth, the interpersonal relationship could be expanded upon in so many ways depending on the ages and personalities of the characters made for it.

Here’s a superhero AU for you: A world where superheroes exist historically, but where their presence actually makes things better, instead of making things worse like in Watchmen, Supreme Power, the Boys etc.

Admittedly the idea of what constitutes as heroic differs from generation to generation and country to country, but a story where we end up with the best possible result (the drama coming from folks trying to exploit matters for their own short and long term gains, and the ripple effect down the timeline as changes are made one way or the other) could be interesting.

Say, for example, there’s a mass empowering event at the beginning of the 1800s, with folks with superpowers being evenly distributed across the world instead of all getting clumped in America or Europe, but they aren’t immediately aware of each other due to the lack of mass communication for some time. How would that effect things? Would they be focused on helping their immediate community, or would they cast a wider net? Would groups form where they collaborate within specific areas to go the most possible good?

Would a group in one area who are seen as heroes become seen as villains in another area when they interact? How would the older generations of heroes see the shifting ideals of the subsequent younger generations?

Personally I like the idea of a group who are at one time seen as being villainous by (Western) folks, but over time people realise that they actually have the right idea and slowly begin to have folks cluster around them as they begin to bring more and more of a positive change to the world. Like, say, if the socialist, anti-racism, anti-authoritarian pirate utopia Libertatia were real and morphed over the decades into a less sketchy version of the X-Men’s island nation over in Marvel at the moment. The Libertatian Humanitarian League wouldn’t shelter Nazis nor start a corporation with said Nazis, for example.

A premise for a shared multiverse of stories

A series of extradimensional prisons end up having a massive mysterious jailbreak that scatters prisoners across many worlds.

Many simply end up in uninhabited planets and realms and will be easily recaptured, or will perish.

But a few end up worlds teeming with life.

Creepy supernatural stalkers that can create pocket dimensions, wannabe gods, undead things that refuse to die, and just strange outlier beings, all end up in worlds often very different genres than ones they came from.

Can reformation happen for some of them more easily in their new homes? Will it matter? Will those used to being a big fish in a small pond just die from recklesness? . Or will the strange cosmic enforcers simply drag them off?

I think eccentric childless royalty naming nonhuman beings heirs isn’t done enough as a premise.

I got an idea for a weird-fiction type alien entity being adopted superman style, and a runty dragon who accepts the position of king not knowing what he is getting into but wants the treasury.
