Writing something softer, for once ✨ - Good Omens
Writing the fanfictions Good Omens, Gravity and his sequel Orbit has been a very different experience from my other Good Omens fanfictions (and from many of my Broadchurch fics too).
Until now, I’ve mostly written broken characters. Characters who suffer, who survive, or who slowly try to rebuild themselves.
But this little universe has a different colour.
It is softer. Brighter. For once, I found myself writing something more tender: a meeting that gently changes an entire life, the awkwardness of the beginning, the hesitation, the slow drawing closer, two people bound by fate.
And then the desire that begins to grow. The uncertainty. The doubts. That dizzying feeling of the beginning, when everything is still fragile, new, uncertain… but already impossible to ignore.
It was new for me to write something so luminous.
And in the end, it was surprisingly soft.
