Akashi with an s/o who's trying to keep up with him because he has achieved so many in life while s/o feels she hasn't accomplished anything. Please and thank you :)
She sits there on the swing, lightly pushing her feet so they weren’t touching the ground. She looks up from her legs, to the sun setting in the horizon. It reminded her of how things used to be. It reminded her of last year.
It was the summer after they graduated high school. Now, everyone has walked their own path. Everyone but her. All her friends knew what to do now, but she didn’t. She felt like she hadn’t accomplished anything. She felt like a failure.
Of course, people helped her. Though she has already enrolled to a certain university, after that, she didn’t know what to do. Maybe after she graduates college, she’d be facing the same thing. And she didn’t want that to happen..
Now, she was just waiting for someone. A certain someone that always made her days much brighter. She gazes down on her bag by the swing, where a small bouquet of flowers was resting.
Her family owned a flower shop. She remembers how she met him– yes, they studied at the same school, and their meeting felt like fate. She was clumsy as hell when she tripped over her own foot and tripping with the flowers in her hand. The exact same flowers; white roses.
He was very nice to have helped her. And when she looked up to see him, she was taken aback by his heterochromatic eyes. They were beautiful, and she still remembered when he picked up the flowers, stood up, held out his hand, and asked, “Are you okay?”
She smiled at the thought.
“(Name),” his voice rang in his ears. For a while, she thought she was daydreaming again, but this time, it was real. She looked over her shoulder, seeing the red-head smiling softly and waving at her. “You look beautiful today, as always.” he sits down on the swing next to her.
She blushed, gently grabbing the flowers from her bag and handing them to him, “Here. For accomplishing most of the things an adult should.” she says, scoffing. He cocks an eyebrow, taking it.
“Thank you, love.” he says with a soft voice. She loved how calming his presence always was. It made her forget about her problems. He was someone that always made her happy, but when she thought about it, there was something about him that made her jealous.
“Are you sleeping well?” she questions. “You seem really busy..” that goes without saying. She could tell he was exhausted. And now, she felt guilty as hell.
“Of course I am,” Akashi nods, his brows furrowing. “Is there something bothering you, (Name)? Don’t hesitate to tell me.” she felt his hand intertwine itself with hers, and once again, her heart skipped a beat.
“Seijuro,” she sighed. “How can you love someone like me?”
She felt even more guilty saying that. It was true, the more she thought about the both of them, the more insecure she becomes. It annoyed her, why would she think of that, when Akashi obviously just had eyes on her?
But she couldn’t help it. There were more girls that were prettier than her. There were more that were nicer, smarter, richer, better.. There were more who accomplished things she couldn’t.
“Why would I not love someone like you?” as expected, he was calm. He moved so that he could see her better. She looks away, not being able to meet his eyes. “You’re more than what I deserve.”
“Look at you,” she bit her lip, trying not to get too emotional. “You’ve accomplished so many things. You’re so smart, you have everything.. while..” she looks down on her hands. “I can’t do anything. I.. can’t keep up with you. You’re too good.”
Akashi stares at her for a moment. He’s never seen her this down, but he understood why.
“Those things don’t matter to me, (Name).” he murmured. “You have everything. If it comes to it, I will wait for you so you can keep up with me. I can’t bare to leave you.” he continues, “Don’t pressure yourself. I know you can do everything I can. You’re impressive.”
“Sei.. do I.. really deserve you?” she hated herself for being so pessimistic. Why?
“Hmm,” he hums. “To be frank, I’m the one that doesn’t deserve you,” he moves closer and plants a kiss on her cheek, before muttering an, “I love you.”
