Who the fuck is trying to call me from the UK while I'm trying to train my Magikarp?
So my roommate has been getting strange phone calls/ voicemails from a woman named Kay
We searched her phone number and found out she is a 70 yr old woman with a dead husband who actually lives relatively close to us. She is most likely living with her brother in law and possibly an in home nurse and she probably has alzheimers. Which would explain why she can't seem to understand that she is calling the wrong number. We arent yet sure what to do with this informantion but we are considering sending her a christmas card.
Someone I didn't know texted me a while ago. They then apologized when I said they got the wrong number, that they were trying to reach their daughter. I'm not good at texting and such, so I sent them this little comic to cheer them up and assure them that I was not upset. I don't know. It was interesting, to say the least. I don't know how to handle wrong phone number calls. -_-
one of my favorite things is getting a call from a number you don’t recognize and letting it go to voicemail and they actually leave a message thinking you’re someone else. i have at least three saved on my phone that i go back to and listen to sometimes.
it’s just such a little treat. we’re so used to our own lives, our routines, the people and scenery we surround ourselves with. and then out of the blue you’re plopped right in the middle of someone else’s life. and it’s the voice of a stranger but they’re so casual and intimate because they think they know exactly who will be listening on the other end of the line. and maybe it’s someone looking for mike, whose phone they got from their friend greg because he told him he could build him the greenhouse he wants. or maybe it’s laura from little enrique’s elementary school calling because enrique has been acting up again. or maybe it’s a woman telling rae to call ron already because they need to finish up the plan for next weekend.
how amazing is that? getting such an intimate glimpse of a relationship between two strangers? all the while stepping momentarily into the role of the phone call recipient. the other person’s mistaken your identity but they don’t know. they’re sure you’re mike, or enrique’s parent, or rae, and will never know that you’re just 23-year-old karen, walking to a CVS in DC or biking to class in LA.
I JUST GOT LEFT THIS VOICE MESSAGE
"What the hell? I thought this was Pizza Hut. What the fuck, yo? But I like your message, very beautiful, uh okay bye. I have no relation to you at all... I just thought this was Pizza Hut bye..." I'm sorry, random New Mexico caller, I wish I was Pizza Hut.
OMG I JUST RECEIVED THE SKETCHIEST PHONE CALL
From SomethingLaboratories they left me a voicemail inquiring about a specimen brought in earlier and the guy sounded like he was hyperventilating and said it was an emergency and that i needed to come see this straight away.
DAH HELL.
I got a random text by someone I didn't know. So, I did what any reasonable person would do.
When someone calls up shouting something about their baby not wanting me around no more and then you tell them that they have the wrong number and they're all like "Bitch this aint the wrong fucking number" it's kinda hard not to mess with them.
