Crucially, like, I hate mosquitos but I don't begrudge their existence, you know?
I don't want them exterminated from existence and honestly, if they didn't a) carry disease and b) make me fucking itchy (the worse sin) I wouldn't care.
I would stand in the yard and let the mosquitoes snack until I was anemic if they left bruises and didn't carry West Nile and Malaria and Yellow Fever and etc.,

Not only do vampires not actually exist but every single hemovore you're likely to encounter in daily life (fleas, mosquitos) leaves you with itchy welts and carry disease and parasites.
Ticks are also an entirely different fucking subject. I do my best to remember that ticks are an important part of the ecosystem and that like, even diseases may have a bigger hand to play in the wider system than we know but also?
