Buzzard was born during a green cough epidemic of Thunderclan, and was the only kit in his litter to not pass from the sickness. His mother, Longstride, was unable to stay in the confines of the nursery due to this reminder, and so the moment he was old enough to eat solid prey, she moved back to the warrior den.
He spent most of his kittenhood as the only one in the nursey so he lacks most social skills and doesn’t like being in crowds or spaces with many cats.
He had every intention of becoming a warrior to try and make his mother proud of him, but plans were changed when he was told he was going to be the next medicine cat. Needless to say, he was not in the slightest bit thrilled about that, but upon hearing his leader as well as several other cats tell him he’ll never make it as a medicine cat, and that his apprenticeship was a mistake he vowed to prove them wrong and become the strongest medicine cat the clans had ever seen.
