It has been great to photograph four members of the woodpecker family this year, Green Woodpecker (shown being ringed at the BTO ringing demonstration at the Global Bird Fair in July in the photo in this set), Great Spotted Woodpecker (shown at Lepe in March in the photo in this set), Lesser Spotted Woodpecker at Acres Down in the New Forest in February and Wryneck at Titchfield Haven last Sunday. I'd seen all four of these species in one year before in 2022 but didn't manage photos of them all that year.
