Walker Stalker Convention - New Jersey - 2018

Yes, I had not forgotten to mention this a bit. This was my second year attending and though I did not pay for any autographs or photo ops (though I wish I could have) I was able to see up close Norman Reedus, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Austin Amelio, and a few others.

For that I am grateful. It had been years since I had seen Norman Reedus in person and I'm very happy to say he is the same wholesome, funny and considerate person. On Day 1 while waiting on line to get into the convention (as I was GA) out of nowhere he pulled the curtain back on one side to wave, say hello to everyone waiting! I couldn't believe it! Everyone lost it and it was a pretty good sign in my book that it was going to be a amazing convention!

Meet and greets were easily the most fun because I got to talk to Tom Payne (who provided hugs automatically) while also getting to know to a extent what these real people behind great characters are like. Meeting them in person or listening to them during panels says a lot about them.

One of the highlights was at the end of the convention when I got to speak to Khary Payton (King Ezekiel). During his panel with Cooper Andrews earlier that same day, I had hoped to ask a question. The panel ran out of time and I was about two people away from asking. As the convention was closing, autograph booths closing up and all, I saw him and kindly asked if I can ask him one question. He waved me over, shook my hand and gave me his full attention.

I wanted to know where King Ezekiel got the ring he proposed to Carol with. He said that during the first episode of Season 9 while the group was at the museum a scene was cut. He was looking at a glass case of rings and picked one of them to give to her. This was while Daryl and Cyndi were having a conversation.

I thank Khary so much for taking the time to answer my question! He, like everyone else there looked utterly exhausted by Sunday. I don't know how they do it all year at conventions.

So long story short it was a great convention! I am going back in 2019 and I look forward to it! I hope that everyone who attended had fun as well!
