The bachelor auction which had secured him his date for the night was not something Christian had ever done before. He wasn’t shy by any means, but neither was he the type to put himself out there in such a public fashion. Still, it had been for charity, so he’d hardly been able to refuse. He was dressed head to toe in black except for the red velvet blazer he’d bought specifically for this occasion, a nearly empty glass of sparkling water in his hand. “I don’t know why my mother thought she could be my date. This is a completely unacceptable way to spend Ash Wednesday.”

Vanessa didn’t care much about St. Patrick itself. To be quite honest, drunk men weren’t exactly her favorite company, but it was such a nice day out. Spring had arrive with full force and so, she decided to step out for a moment and allow herself to enjoy a cold beer and some fries for a change. She had just bought herself something to drink when some drunken group moved past her, causing the woman to stumble forward and bump onto a third person. “Shit--” She raised her beer cup, checking her own clothes for any sign of beer on them, but luckily, her clothes were intact. “I didn’t spill anything on you, did I?”
Vanessa had never really cared about Valentine’s day, but when it came to helping people in need, she was all for it. Although she didn’t end up with one of the bachelors as her date, at least she was perfectly content with having helped. After picking a champagne flute from a passing tray, she noticed a familiar face and, with a smile, made her way towards them. “Look at you all fancied up. I like it.” She teased, before sipping on her drink. “I’ve never been one for these fancy parties, but damn this looks amazing...”
