It doesn’t have color yet, but I do have this!

Junior’s perpetually stuck at 15 years old, and this is CJ at the same age.

Kinda crazy how someone can be the exact same but also a completely different person from themself :)

Has there ever been a time where someone "fucked around and found out" with CJ?

(Sorry for spamming, I just love them. 😔)

The whole family is pretty protective of each other, kind of the whole “mess with one of us, mess with all of us” ordeal. Especially when it comes to the kids.

However, there is one specific occasion that always sticks out in CJ’s mind.

He isn’t particularly close with his Uncle Leo, since the old turtle tends to be a bit more closed off with CJ than with the other cousins.

It’s not intentional, and Leonardo doesn’t even realize he does it, but it’s always bothered CJ (even when a certain ghost friend told him the story of Junior.)

CJ reminds Leo so much of his former student, and the pain and guilt the memories evoke hurt him a lot. Of course it’s not the kid’s fault, but it takes a long time for Leo to move on.

One day, CJ wandered off when his parents weren’t looking during a festival in Yokai City, not thinking much of it, and accidentally took a wrong turn into an unpleasant neighborhood.

Some older kids decided the youngster was fresh meat to entertain their time. . . Or they did until Leonardo showed up. Trust me when I say the guy can be quite intimidating when he wants to be.

That was the moment when CJ realized Uncle Lee may not wear his heart on his sleeve all the time, but CJ’s just as much a part of the family as anyone else.

I need to know, please! Is CJ's ghost "tied" to baby CJ? Or can it wander around independently?

What I'm asking, is can Casey see the effect baby CJ's words had on his sensei? Is he able to be there for Leo right now, even if Leo doesn't know it?

Also how do you portray so much emotion in your comics it's killing me you're seriously amazing 😭

Okay, first of all thank you so much! Emotion has always been important to me so I’m glad I’m able to get it across how I hoped!

As for Junior and CJ, it has a lot to do with how I perceive ninpo to work, some of my own personal headcanons on the matter.

While Junior did die, his spirit continued to live on thanks to his own mystics he developed from spending so much time with the Hamatos (it kinda rubbed off on him to put it simply, especially since Leo basically adopted the kid.)

The spirit plane is no respecter of timeline branches, and when his and Leo’s timeline linked up with Mikey’s, Junior’s spirit was able to latch onto CJ’s when he was born. It’s what keeps him around in the physical realm.

HOWEVER. He can’t wander very far from CJ, as much as he would want to spend more time with his sensei. On top of that, CJ is the only one who can interact with him in this realm.

As of the moment, he’s just an imaginary friend <:)
