I might have to read the One Piece manga before I make a final theory and character analysis on Kizaru because I just read some manga panels, that's like, between chapters 1000-1100 and they actually help my theories tremendously holy shit

GUYS none of the One Piece films are canon besides Strong World (per Oda)

BUT, I get a very small amount of my Kizaru info from the Z movie since it gives a very small bit into his background when he's fighting Z. So, using info from a non-canon movie can prove to be a bit dishonest, BUT...

I Just realized although Z's storyline isn't canon, Kuzan's storyline within the Z movie is. Him joining the marines when he's 19 and training under Garp, plus his injury from Akainu.

SOOOO, that means there's a possibility that Kizaru's storyline is somewhat canon. At least the info about him and Akainu's ages when they joined the marines (26 and 23). BUT, if Z's story isn't canon, I wonder who Kizaru trained under?

In the movie it's noted he trained under Z, who says he and Ki never got along, and that he told Ki to stop relying so much on his DF...

Like when they say a storyline isn't canon does that mean the character itself isn't either? Like is the Z film just an au for Zephyr and his story in the canon timeline will be different? Or is he an au character all together.
