Life lessons
Jack, age 8: You look fatter today.
Me: Hey! That's not a nice thing to say!
Jack: No, Dad says it's good to be honest.
Me: It is, but it is just as important to be kind. It's about finding a balance between the two.
Jack: You look fatter today, but it's nice.
The crossbow really is the AK-47 of the Middle Ages
Jack, age 7
Just went in to check on Arie on my way to bed and found him drenched in sweat, sound asleep INSIDE his duvet cover. Head and all. Pulling him out felt like I was peeling the membrane off The Biggest Baby Ever. Except for the 2' plastic dinosaur that was also in there. Doubt that usually happens.
Happy Birthday Rex!
WTF Kids? Let's face it: kids are always saying the darndest things. Now that my Facebook feed is full of children, what am I supposed to do? Ignore all the hilarious things people share on Facebook? I gotta do something with it. So here goes.
This first one is from Betsy Stover and Ari Voukydis about their son, Rex:
Ever since Rex got a birthday card from my dad & stepmom, apologizing that they could’t attend his birthday party, Rex calls cards “I’m sorry books.”
You can follow Betsy here and Ari here. Don’t follow Rex around, you creep!
