This is my first fanfiction crossover (is it the right term?).
This is the last chapter of this series! Thank you for reading! And if you’ve been there since the first chapter, you rock! x
SUMMARY:
Y/N is a Slytherin who’s family are like The Malfoys and for the last nineteen years, you believed that those people who aren’t your kind doesn’t deserve all the luxurious things that you and your kind experience in the magical world. But thanks to your professor in Herbology, Professor Longbottom, you’re stuck with a Hufflepuff boy who is a muggleborn. However, to your surprise, you became friends with him and you soon develop feelings for him.
What will happen to your friendship?
Is there a chance for your friendship to level up into a romantic relationship?
Is there a chance for change?
Or will your love story end up in a tragedy?
You were nonchalantly observing Michael and Natalie’s public display of affection. They were giggling like two five-year-olds, careless of whoever sees them. You thought that that’s the feeling of being in love - not caring what people would think about your relationship because no matter how hard people try defending their loved ones, some will disagree. You thought about your lingering feelings with Calum. Debating whether this is love or intuition. You may look calm on the outside but you were bombarded with theories about love on the inside, questioning whether you should “follow your heart” or “follow your brain.” Why is love so complicated? But if it’s complicated, Michael and Natalie are surely the perfect example of how good it is to fall in love. They are the perfect example of love.
Calum sat next to you. “Look at those lovebirds.” He smiled.
“Isn’t it difficult for you?” You immediately regretted asking him.
He gave you a confused look. “What?”
“Well, ugh.. I overheard you and Jack talking....you like Natalie.”
He understood what you were talking about. “Oh.. that.. uhm...”
“Sorry! I didn’t really want to eavesdrop but uh..”
He laughed. “Sorry for laughing. It’s not Natalie. I would never do that to Michael.” He paused. “It’s.....you.” He looked at you sincerely. Half expecting you to say that you like him. Half expecting the rejection. He felt like he was in a Quidditch match. He prepared for the Quaffle to hit him at any moment. But was still hopeful to get the Snitch instead.
You didn’t know what to say. Everything was a surprise. You thought about your question. Is love really that complicated? Or do we complicate love? You glanced at Michael and Natalie. It isn’t that complicated. “I..uh.. I actually have feelings for you, too.”
Oftentimes, we forget that things are simple. We, sometimes, overcomplicate things by overthinking. We don’t notice it but we, sometimes, take into account what others might say or think when we do certain things or act a certain way. So we box our talents, put our feelings aside, and carry on fitting in. Making others satisfied. But we should also put into consideration that no matter what we do, there will always be people who would disagree. Pleasing everyone you meet will never be achievable. Losing yourself along the journey is. And maybe, that leap of faith is what you needed all along.
