The Silence is Deafening I Joel and Estelle
At the beginning he wasn't sure if she was avoiding him or if it was all just convenient timing. Now, he was sure. It'd been around two months and he'd hardly seen her since... that happened. Was she embarrassed to tell him she didn't feel anything? Was she scared to ruin their friendship? He sighed deeply, kicking a rock on the ground as he walked home from his shift at work. They hadn't been able to talk about it since then. He walked towards their shared trailer and placed his hand on the door. He was getting home a little early today... their boss had given them a half day. Maybe she'd forgotten and he'd finally be able to get more than a few words from her. He turned the doorknob gently, peering into the room. "Estelle?" He called, taking a tender step into the room and looking at her. "Can we please talk?" He took a breath. "I can't stand not talking to you. I miss you." He tried to stay calm, to get her attention and hold it. "And even if it's just to say that you want to move out or that you-" He hesitated, forcing the word out with difficulty."-hate me..." he took a step towards her. "Just please talk to me.... the silence is killing me."
