If you stroll into office 502 in the downtown Seattle Olympic Block building, there's a little PopCap Games reunion going on. There's Rick Schmitz, former PopCap art director, in one corner. Near Schmitz is producer Michael Santora, who spent more than seven years helping teams release games over at PopCap's Seattle office just a ten minute drive from here.

Adding a Bit of Color

What our office really needed was a dragon head and a fez.  We also got a skull print and a goblin sculpture.

Great Minds Think Alike

2 different people independently came up with the idea that it would be a good idea to bring doughnuts to the office yesterday.  I'm happy to report that almost all of the doughnuts have found good homes.

"Getting Schooled" or "The Color Purple"

On Friday I took the day off to visit my son's school and talk to 5th and 6th graders about making games.  I told them about the importance of team work and writing skills and then we (my wife, the kids and I) went on to design a game character together.  I did this talk with 4 different groups and they all gave their character purple skin or clothes. 

A pretty great day, all in all.

Hidden treasure in Pioneer Square

I had my wife, 2 of my kids and a buddy of one of those kids join me for lunch today at the office.  We ate at a fun little dinner called Planet Java.  Afterwords we stumbled onto a little gourmet chocolate shop called Intrigue Chocolate.  We had some samples, bought some truffles and the owner let us ride the old freight elevator back down to street level.  Cool way to start the 3 day weekend... finding hidden treasures downtown.

Just Another Day

Penguins! Escape is live in the App Store today, but here at WildTangent Studios its just another day.  We are hard at work and snacking on Nutella truffles and flinging the snark like no one's business.
