[FF] Truth or Dare? Ch.3
"Yo, go buy some more, Summah~" Kris started to push me towards the ahjumma, speaking in English. His strange Canadian English. I sighed. It's a good thing I was hungry.
The four of us continued to hang out, and I made sure that Emily and Tao were always stuck in some situation together. I'm an evil mastermind. Like, when we went to a clothing store, and I made him compliment her. Muahaha. You know, stuff like that.
The sun was starting to set; had we really been out that long? My stomach grumbled at the sent of an American style diner. Mmm, cheeseburgers...I looked at Emily and I could tell she was thinking of the same thing. We were fatasses, so our stomachs were linked or something, I don't know. We were just always hungry at the same time.
"Eommaaaa, j'ai faim~" She grabbed my arm and dragged me into the diner, while the other two looked at her like she was crazy. Which she was.
"Uh, duizhang, what'd she say? And Xia Tian's not her real mom...right?"
"Aha, they're weird, Tao. Summer said she was crazy, so I don't know~" Kris and Tao followed us into the diner, sitting across from us. Tao was in front of me...that had to change.
"Hey, lemme get out. I need to pee!" I pushed my friend out, feeling a little guilty for leaving her alone. Oh well, she'll thank me later.
"E-eh?! EOMMA!" She turned and glared at me before a nervous look filled her eyes. I smiled innocently, but she knew I was laughing evilly on the inside. Hehe.
--
"Uh. Hiiii." She stared at them with eyes wider than Kyungsoo; that's saying something. "I'm an awkward turtle, just so you know."
"Duizhaaang, why so much English?!"
"Sorry Tao-ssi...I forgot!"
"Tao-oppa" Tao grinned and Kris rolled his eyes. Here we go again.
"Uhh. Yeah, mianhae, oppa~" Emily scratched her head and bit her lip; a sure sign she was nervous. Should I come back from the bathroom? Nah, I'll watch from the corner a little longer. Eh? My shoelace!
"Whatcha doooin~?" Kris had rounded the corner and stood by me, raising his eyebrows and gesturing to our table. His arm was leaning on the wall behind me and I got up, still looking at where Tao and Emily were having an awkwardly cute conversation. I looked up at him from the corner of my eye; his hat had messed up his hair, but it still looked kinda...hot? WHAT. NO. *Ahem*. I sighed, looking at my friend run her fingers through her hair.
"She's awkward with boys so I'm helping." Kris chuckled and I could feel the vibrations from his chest. Oh no. No no no. Ew. Cooties. Agh.
"Anyways. I'm hungry. Let's go back," He grabbed my elbow and lead me back to the table; I made Emily scoot all the way into the booth so she'd be across from her new oppa. I'm such a good friend, I don't even know.
"Mei Li-ah~ Open wide!" I stuck a fry in her mouth, making sure to get some ketchup on her before turning away pretending like I didn't notice. I smiled as Tao wiped it off for her.
"Hey Summer, you got some too!"
"What? Where?" Kris pointed to my shirt and I looked down only to be flicked in the nose. "That was rude, sir."
He laughed again, and the sound made my stomach flip. Where are these feelings coming from? I felt my heart pound; doo-geun, doo-geun.
I looked away quickly, pretending to check my phone. Right at that moment, Kai's strange screamo part from Mama blasted through the small speaker.
"H-hello?" No one except Emily has ever heard my ringtone. Wae.
"Yes, Yeoreum-ah?" Our manager sounded quite excited through the phone. "Is Mei Li with you? Good! You two should come over as soon as you can; we have a surprise for you~"
"Ah, ok, we'll be there soon...mhmm, thanks!" I hung up and turned to Emily, happy for an excuse to leave while my sanity was in tact. "Kaja, manager-oppa needs to see us! Ah, here's some money, oppa and oppa!"
I left a few bills on the table and we waved goodbye while they finished all that was left. Boys...no, MEN. Aish.
"Are you ok, Summer? Your face is kinda-"
"Shut up."
"OH HO HO. WHAT IS THIS. THE TABLES HAVE TURNED." I shot her a menacing look. "What? You've been messing with me and Tao all day!"
"Tao-oppa!" She glared at me; AHA! "Fine, call it even?"
"Arasso~" She linked her arm through mine as we made our way back to the studio.
"What do you think the surprise is?"
"Banana milk?"
"Wha- you're...something."
"Haha, just kidding! Maybe we're gonna be a duo instead of having ten other members..."
"HAHA, then have all of EXO to ourselves? That'll be the day."
"You know what I mean, sheesh!"
The building came into view and we casually walked in while some fans stared at us grudgingly from outside. Since we just ate, we decided to take the stairs to our manager's office, and when we got there, we heard voices.
"Is that...a girl?" I whispered, hoping no one but Emily could hear me.
"Only one way to find out..." She knocked on the door.
"Ah, you guys made it! Come in; I need to introduce you to someone..." We stepped into his office, noticing that someone was already seated in a chair in front of his desk. She had long, wavy black hair and her back was facing us. She turned to look at as and smiled, a dimple cutely gracing one of her cheeks.
"Hi, I'm San Ah~ I'm joining your group today! Please take care of me~" She got up and bowed, then extended her arm out so we could shake her hand.
"I'm Summer-Yeoreum-Xia Tian. And this is Emily-Hye Mi-Mei Li. We're very global." She laughed.
"I can see that...I guess I'll need an English and Chinese name, too?"
"Oh, don't worry about that. It's just for them two for right now!" Our manager winked at us before gesturing to take a seat. "Now, you two must be welcoming to San Ah. And please...when in public, don't leave her alone for too long."
"Ah, I should be fine now, Manager-oppa..."
"No, we have to be careful. The fans these days are kind of crazy...didn't you watch Reply 1997? With EXO gaining popularity so quickly, you need to lay low; it'll be best if you-"
"I know, I know...I didn't mean for that to happen. I'm sorry." San Ha looked down and twiddled her thumbs. I wonder what happened.
After discussing some plans and organizing a new practice schedule, the three of us headed to our practice room. It was quiet now since Chen wasn't laughing to himself like a maniac.
"It's going to be a lot of fun...after a few weeks." Emily was now in co-leader mode. We were the first two, so until the whole roster was filled, well, we were in charge. "The two of us have been here a while, so we already have some routines we go through everyday to train our vocals and dancing. Summer here is a dancer and sub-vocal. I'm a rapper and sub-vocal, too. Do you know what you're going to be doing?"
"Ah, uhh...I'm a main vocal, I believe. That's all I've been training to do anyways..."
"Ok, we'll start with a song with all these elements and work on it this week. Sound good?" I put my shoulder on San Ah; she looked a little nervous. "Don't worry; we're nice people...we just take this seriously."
She nodded and we spent the rest of the afternoon looking through songs. I came up with simple choreo while Emily divided the parts evenly between the three of us.
"Hmm, it's getting late, guys. We should just start tomorrow." I peered outside the window at the setting sun. "San Ah, you should get plenty of rest and drink a lot of water, ok? We'll walk you home and get to know you better!"
"O-ok! I'll go get my things." She ran off to the locker room and I started to put the stuff away.
"She seems nice!" Emily helped me close the blinds on the windows and flicked off the back lights.
"I wonder what Manager-oppa was talking about earlier, though...should we ask?"
"I can just tell you..." San Ah stood at the door, playing with the end of her ponytail. We joined her, and the three of us left the building together. Once it was a ways away from us, San Ah cleared her throat. "It was...Jong Dae-oppa."
