“I'm going back in time” - for all Nathan's faults, never let it be said that he's afraid to come up with the big ideas

I Iove the 1980s of it all. How cool it could have been to have an ‘80s spin off series.

The actors playing the younger Garland and Dave do such a good job.

“Sure glad you finally grew into those ears son” XD Glad to see 1980s Garland still has a way with words XD

 I love these scenes between Nathan and Garland so much - you can see Nathan's perception of their whole relationship completely change.

Why does Croatoan want James Cogan dead? Does he mean to kill his grandson or does he just go for the first warm body he finds? And is the black smoke Croatoan pulls out of him a sign that James was Troubled?

Nathan Wuornos: What?

Garland Wuornos: I’m proud of you. When it all hit the fan, you didn’t flinch. You had to shoot your own partner. You know, part of me thinks you kind of grew up a little bit today.

Nathan Wuornos: You don’t know me at all, do you?

Garland Wuornos: Just trying to give you a compliment, son. Take a compliment when…

Nathan Wuornos: Think I can grow up… Be like you? I’m not like you. Okay? I don’t want to be like you.

Timetravel plotlines are such a headfuck.

When Nathan and Garland argue at the end of season one, for a while you’re left wondering if Nathan really thinks of Garland as his father - and presumably Garland is left wondering that too. And then after Garland is gone we see Nathan refer to him as his father and so we get that insight into Nathan’s feelings that Garland didn’t get. 

EXCEPT he does! Because in season five a younger Garland meets an older Nathan, who tells him; “I’m Nathan Wuornos, I’m you’re son.” And, “I know you; you’re my father.”

And I like to think that when the older Garland was struggling to hold it all together at the end, he remembered that. And that for all their arguments he knew that Nathan thought of himself as his son, and always called himself a Wuornos.

Garland never asks him about dating again until after he's dead and tells him to not date Audrey.

Don't mind me, I'm getting comments so reading my own stuff. I love that Haven lets me write sentences like this.
