A pox on Air Berlin, still

BUT - I actually got some really good news. My credit card company provisionally refunded the original flight as a ‘service not delivered’ (or however you might phrase it in English.) Provisional apparently means that the company (Air Berlin) gets 8 weeks to reply. Since there’s really no contesting that the service was not delivered and that there was no attempt to offer an alternative, it’s hard to see how they’d walk this back.

So! The Mariana Trench in my WW18 fund is now once again a molehill and the chances of managing to go in 2018 have vastly increased \o/

2020 Women's World Juniors

What is it? The IIHF U18 Women's World Championship is the premier tournament for women’s national junior ice hockey teams in the world. Eight nations are represented and are organized into two groups of four for the preliminary round: Group A is Canada, Finland, Russia, and the United States; Group B is the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Sweden, and Switzerland.

When and where? The tournament begins on Thursday, 26 December 2019, and the final matches will be held on Thursday, 2 January 2020. All games will be played at Ice Rink Vlado Dzurilla in Bratislava, Slovakia.

How can I follow the tournament? Live-streams of the games are accessible from the IIHF’s tournament page and the Leijonat homepage. The IIHF 2020 app provides some interesting statistics and can be configured to send notifications about games to your mobile device.
