Hey guys, Admin Cocoa here! I'm using caps. Crazy, I know, but I mean business! I need y'all's help. I'm a student at Florida State University and I intern at a small archive on campus called the Institute on World War II and the Human Experience. Recently, us interns found out that our higher ups did all they could, but the Institute was going to be absorbed into the bigger entity on campus, FSU Special Collections. My fellow interns and I were in shock, but we knew we had to take action.
We started a petition on change.org and I would greatly appreciate it if you could take a minute to sign and share this. The Institute gives undergraduate students such a unique opportunity where we get to read and look through collections and make them available to researchers. I have had such a great time working there, I have learned so much. Not only interns, but paid students work there. The Institute is their livelihood. It is also a great, undervalued resource for students at my university... I can't imagine not having it be here anymore.
So please, please, please, sign our petition. If you have any questions, feel free to send them my way. We also have a Twitter explaining more of the situation, and if you want updates.
TLDR a lion is picking on a mouse, but the mouse isn't going down easily. Please sign this petition to save a small WWII archive.
