I honestly can't believe WW84 decided to imply that the Mayan Empire fell because the Maya were apparently making too many wishes and were being selfish instead of... Y know... Europeans committing genocide against them. The whole "Mayan" scene is disgusting and this movie is blatantly racist.
I see so many of you hating on a movie that teaches us that having it all shouldn’t be the goal- that the goal should be to be good and warm and true! That short cuts aren’t true success! That outcasting others causes more ripples of misery than we can imagine! That capitalism and racism are plagues on our society! That childhood traumas haunt us and hurt our own children! That parents don’t need to be great to be good parents, and all children want is their parents to be there! That if we were to collectively help one another instead of only wishing for our own selfish desires the whole world could change!!
We have just had a shit year- globally, nationally, and even personally for many. And your take away from this movie is to ignore all those lessons? Did you learn nothing from this pandemic? We need one another, we need one another to survive! Fuck thrive- SURVIVE! And if we aren’t willing to start setting aside our petty hate, and move past our pain, and find commonality in our differences, 2021 will be no better. This isn’t a cursed year, this is a pained society! And we have the power to change it!
So quit criticizing, and start listening!

One review of Wonder Woman 1984 commented on how "terrible" Diana looked during her parting scene with Steve Trevor.
I'm sorry, what? Gods forbid that a woman actually be allowed to cry in a film and not maintain the picture perfect makeup that they paint her up into. Let's also disregard the fact that she was literally losing every ounce of what made her so powerful but that's okay.
Keep hating on a movie because of how you find women unattractive when they're upset and pouring their heart out.
I love how WW84 is 30% Steve being amazed by all the modern things, his eyes lit up like a little kid. I'm not kidding when I say that it made cry.
On the other side, I think I might have a little crush on Chris Pine. He seems so sweet.
Am I the only one who get from the movie that the reason Diana is closed off from making new friends and going out is not because of Steve, but because she hasn't been comfortable with mortality yet? The sequence of the framed pictures shows Diana from being with groups of people, to being with just Etta, and being alone in the end. There are Steve's portraits inbetween to show that she always misses him. But losing him clearly didn't stop her from making friends before. She lived and spent her life with Etta and the others until they passed of old age. She's never experienced mortality before and it must have been devastating for her.
And I don't get the complaints about Diana choosing to wish for Steve back like he's the only person that matters. Like no? He's not the only important person in her life, but he's the only important person in her life that she didn't get to spend enough time with like the others she loved? "I wish we had more time"? The watch that starts working again? Like that's literally the whole point! She wishes for more time with him.

Seeing Steve get stripped away from Diana again was so heartbreaking, but at least she got to say goodbye to his face this time.
