• Waking Witchblr Week: Divine Friday
Hey, everyone! Another day of the @wakingwitchblr week!
Since today is Divine Friday, I’ll be offering Sea Shell Divinations without limiting the number of shells! (My Free readings have a 4-5 shells limit).
Other than that, some small talk about Sea Shell Divination!
What is Sea Shell Divination

As it can be seen by the name, it is a technique of divination through Sea Shells.
Sea Shells are not only part of the natural world, hence carrying lots of natural energy, but also used to be house and protect living beings.
I think you can find the presence of all four elements in a sea shell, air that the beings breath, water that moves the shell, the structure represented by earth and fire to represent the life that was there.
So, there are a lot pf varying methods of performing Sea Shell divination, but I do believe that one aspect doesn’t change: The divination will be done with the full power and knowledge from the memory of the life that occupied it as well as from the Ocean.
I consider this form of divination a mirror of the Ocean, a gentle but powerful nature force, that is ancient, steady and deep.
Lou’s Sea Shell Divination Method
I believe that a big part of divination comes from being comfortable with the chosen method, I did answer an ask about this topic, and the answer hasn’t really changed, so I’ll reuse some of my words!
First I believe that studying and researching whichever form of divination you want to learn is key, and by doing so I’ve discovered that there are an amazing variety of methods to Sea Shell Divination. Taking that in consideration, and the belief that you have to feel comfortable with the process, system and methodology you decide to apply, it seems that since this isn’t a traditional form of divination with it’s set of rules, I decided to apply my own alterations to the textbook process.
A common practice in Sea Shell Divination is to have a casting table/casting space, that in most cases represent Past, Present, Future, Thing in your Control and Things Outside of your control.
I took that as a base, since the use of a casting table resonated with me, and from there I began to expand the representations and divisions of the casting table based on other topics of research, specifically Jung’s Theory of the Psyche and Tarot!
From there I began assigning and cross combining and altering different sources of meaning to create the symbols I use in my table and the meaning represented by the shells.
Don’t Be Afraid to Innovate!
Taking off some methods of divination that have strict rules, don’t be afraid to test, mix and mash with divination. Sometimes to be confident in it you have to be comfortable!
