THQ Reboots WWE SD! vs. Raw series
THQ are set to reboot the decade old WWE SmackDown vs. Raw series
So it looks like, after over ten years, the SmackDown series is finally being laid to rest. I'm glad. Don't get me wrong, the SD games have given me countless hours of entertainment. I remember going way back to playing the first SmackDown game on the PS1 when I was only 10-years-old, and I had a blast with that, same with Know Your Role. Although I wasn't a big fan of Just Bring It.
I still feel that my favourites from the series were Shut Your Mouth and Here Comes the Pain. But each game has been fun in its own ways.
Though each game has been fun in its own way, none of them have really stood out to me for the last few years. The last three games or so haven't really been all that groundbreaking to me. SD vs. Raw has essentially been the same game every year, just repackaged with a slightly different roster and maybe one or two game modes get replaced or changed each year. But now it sounds as though they are actually going to make a go of completely rebooting the series, renaming it simply as WWE 2012. The gameplay's going to be competely overhauled I believe. So I'm personally looking forward to it.
In the mean time, we still have SD vs. Raw 2011 and All Stars to occupy our time until 2012 comes out.
