beeswaxx is the type of player who runs at first sight of a unique word, crying "cheater!" This is a situation where one needs to be willing to play something out for a bit to see if their hunch is correct. As I've mentioned before in this blog, I always give someone the benefit of the doubt on the first couple weird words they play (unless it is a bizarre, game-starting word like in my post from the other day). The way I see it, everyone who plays this game has picked up a few strange words on their journey. Especially when it comes to the big dogs: J, Q, Z and X. With fewer ways to use these letters, we quickly learn how to use them. Anyway, I played 2 words in a row on beeswaxx that he just couldn't handle. Neither one got me a ton of points, either. I played PRIMUS, which I know is a word because I'm a child of the 90s and have been to several Primus shows. But when I played SOJOU, beeswaxx couldn't handle it. He quit and accused me of cheating. Dear beeswaxx: if I wanted to cheat, I'd do it for far more than 30 measly points. Grow up, you big baby.

So ... Is Big D 48dm a cheater after all? Hard to say. I feel that the answer is probably "yes," but the proof is now lacking a bit. I called him out on that insane word he started things out with, and he replied that he's a Chem minor. However, I get this feeling that jarosite is really more in the realm of geology. I think that he pulled back on the insane words after I called him out. But I could be wrong. Thoughts?

Some people are just too ballsy with their cheating. Take Big D 48dm, for example. This guy just can't figure out how to play the cheating smoothly. Instead of trying to hide it behind realistic words, he has to go — right off the bat — with a remarkably insane word to clear his tiles. Look, I'm a writer in my real life, as well as an avid reader and consumer of film/television. There's not a lot of words I don't know offhand. So if I have to Google your word, and I discover that it's an obscure, scientific word referring to a very specific type of mineral, I'm immediately suspicious.  However, for the benefit of this blog, I'm going to play this out for a bit, just to see what happens. I've even initiated a chat with this cheater to see what he says. I'll keep you up to date on it. I will most like resign this game soon, but I figured hey...why not have a little fun for the sake of the blog first?

Meet our latest cheater: GBomb224. This guy doesn't even bother to try to hide the fact that he's cheating. I've outlined a lot of his words above. And yes, some of them aren't all that odd (VISAGE, COMBATS, ARMADA, LITHE, GONDOLA). What clues you in to this kind of cheater is the consistency of the large words, combined with the point totals they create. Now, I'd be suspicious of this person based on these larger words alone, but I wouldn't make a cheating accusation. He could very easily be verbose and able to finagle those words out of his tiles. What makes the accusation easy is words like KOTO, POYOU, URAEI and URETERS. Especially URETERS. You see, I was winning until that one. Then he throws down a 7-letter bullshit word to cement the end of the game. So, congrats, GBomb224. Your anagram generator has outlasted another opponent.

812acox88 is not just a cheater...he's a bad cheater. (Also, since I rarely know the gender of my opponent, I'm just going with the masculine from now on unless it is clear otherwise). This is a person who is new to the game, and probably got slaughtered a few times, so he decided to use an anagram generator. Only problem is, he goes for the biggest words possible, and not the ones that will score him the most points.  Anyway, it was an easy win. 812acox88: if you're going to cheat, at least do it right.

A cheater...confesses? I'll admit, my mind was blown by this one. After watching Utrecht Lights throw down four incredibly suspicious words, I decided to call my opponent out on it. The response I got was a resignation. But because my time had been wasted, I wanted to see if this person would actually admit to cheating. Not only did he/she admit to it, but actually apologized. It's nice to know I can still be surprised.
