Hi guys, here is a quick update, with a picture of my tired face as a bonus. So, we’ve been having car trouble ever since we left to go WWOOFing. In Washington a mechanic refused to work on our car because the rear suspension was completely rusted, essentially he told me that the car would make it back to Massachusetts, but I should absolutely get rid of it after that. We ignored his advice and instead drove it south, and lived out of it for nearly a month. We made it to our next farm in Northern California without any problems. We then headed to our next farm near the end of December (the farm we are still at) and here, we got the car looked at. The guy said he was surprised the rear suspension didn’t fall out of the car before now. He agreed to work on the car, but for an amount of money too high for our current situation. He was reluctant to even let us drive our car back to the farm, but we did. We decided that we would sell the car for (for less than a third of the value we bought it at only eight months earlier) and buy a new car. After over a month of complete confusion and nearly flying home over four times, we found a mini-van, bought it, and sold our Subaru. Here is where it became even more complicated. We sent in the title and bill of sale to our insurance so that they could register the car in Massachusetts for us. The papers were rejected by the RMV because the person I bought it from signed in the wrong areas. Now, all of this wouldn’t be so complicated IF the person who sold it to us, was the person whose name is on the title, but it’s not. The title was title-hopped TWICE before it got to us. Somehow, I got ahold of the person whose name the car IS registered in, and we’re going to try and work it out. This has been one of the most mentally exhausting and complicated messes I have had to work out. I’m going to swear off of cars after this trip is over.
That’s all for now!
