i am going thru this weird period where i end up napping for like five hours after i get off work which SUCKKSSS bc ive been getting home so late recently

like im gonna nap. im not gonna deny myself sleep, if im sleepy im gonna sleep. i just dont get why i have to crash for so fucking long.

bc now it's almost midnight and ive just woke up. im gonna have a snack and write a little and then i gotta go back to bed bc i gotta be up at 6am.

doesnt help that yesterday (uhh today? still) for like 20 more mins?) whatever. Wednesday august 5th.

i was supposed to open at work. so i was up at 3;30 on three hours of sleep (bc ofc i did this nap shit last night as well) and on my way to work got a flat tire. stuck halfway between work and home and absolutely unable to get any further than where i was so no going back, no limping to work. so i called my supervisor.

who incidentally was also late so she wasnt even there but thats another story. anyway, call in and say I'll be there as soon as i can but i didnt want to leave my car.

have a mild fit of indecision paralysis. its 430am so the world is still asleep. i forgot i had a spare tire in the car so i finally decide to request a tow from roadside assistance so i can get towed back home, borrow my sister's mom's car, get to work asap, and figure the tire out when i get off work. (later turns out i did have the spare BUT no tire iron, and only a really shitty car jack i dont trust. so still needed roadside assistance.)

the guy takes three. hours. to show up. (i mean its 430am. no one is awake. except me.)

im exhausted bc, 3hours of sleep, so i cranked my seat back like my old homeless days and wadded up a hoodie under my head and went back to sleep in the front seat.

7:30 the tow truck arrives and the car, triumphant hero angel, goes "oh you have a spare, i can just put that on for you" 🎶 heavenly choir 🎶 so he puts that on and i get to work at 7:50, almost 3.5 whole ass hours after i was supposed to be there.

the day was literally fine after that????? like nothing of value was lost it was just a fucked up start lol

after work i went to the tire place down the road i trust and ofc they dont have the tire i need so they had to order it so i still have the donut on the car for now. also have to get my brakes looked at bc the roadside guy was like HAHA YOU HAVE ALMOST NOTHING DOWN HERE and i was like bro theyre not even squealing or squeaking they cant be that bad

anyway. all that plus i then worked a regular shift (staying a couple hours later to make up for the hours I'd lost) so i didnt get home til like 5pm. thats why i was tired and went to sleep as soon as i got home and just woke up at 11:30pm like some kind of owl

now i gotta make some words happen bc these fics are not budging on their own.

So, timeline.

The 16th, my car dies and i have it towed to the dealership

The 17th, i call 3 times before i can talk to anyone, all calls spaced out an hr or so, and they say theyll look monday and get back to me

The 20th, the start a text chain where i can ask any questions or concerns and i get a link to a repair tracker

The 22nd i text it, because theres been no update in either and i get a message saying theyll get back to me during business hrs

The 23rd still no response so i ask again for any updates and they say ill get an engine replacement covered by the warranty. And i ask for a general timeline and they say once all the parts come its 3 or so days.

The 30th i havent heard anything so i text the line and got ignored.

Am i wrong for being irritated? They didnt even reach out monday after they checked, i had to 2x for a vague response. They didnt even tell me exactly what was wrong or what tests were ran, or we got the parts and will get to it some day or anything. The tracker hasnt updated at all since the 20th

Theres such a severe lack of communication and i feel like im having to beg for even a scrap of information

Every time my family has attempted to see Hadestown, at least one vehicle has done a fucky-uppy(still managed to see the play live because we had a spare, but no proshot)
