Big News!

Some cool stuff going on.

We're doing a radio show Thursday night 4-6 at WXLV in Allentown, PA playing some songs live and hanging out.

We're opening for The Apache Relay when they come through Philly on 12/12/12

We're going on out first small tour in January,4 dates: Philly PA, Bethlehem PA, Brooklyn NY, New Haven CT. Come out if you live near any of those places!

"The first mistake I made was loving Rumpke too much," agreed a fan on Facebook.

Rumpke has listeners where they want them, and we can't let them go.

My co-host Trippy Nikki and I met the Rumpke Mountain Boys at one of our first festivals attended as radio personalities on WXLV. Following their evening set, we met Rumpke off stage to greet Roll Todd and Meatmouth and share their bottle of Maker's Mark until they continued another jam set shortly before 2am that lasted past dawn.

A few things I learned about the Rumpke Mountain Boys:

They are sure crowd pleasers, picking at a widespread genre of originals and covers that liven your bones. Estimate not, how long they will play, for they will not give up picking at their strings until the pivotal jam is through. You can find Rumpke at local watering holes near their hometown of Cincinnati, between van rides from festivals around the middle eastern U.S. and and fancy scenes alike (like in front of art museums!). Fans become so passionate about a live Rumpke show, it's a wonder how anyone fell this hard for "trashgrass."

RMB held out longer than the gallon of pineapple whipped vodka Nikki & Huck shared and by 8am when they finally put down their set of strings (bass, mandolin, banjo & acoustic), a handful of all-night hoopers withstood the jam of the Rumpke Mountain Boys and I couldn't wake up my co-host that passed out facedown on the picnic table next to the Boys' set stage under a tree on the campground.
