Hi! I saw ur tags about wanting to use identity first language with ADHD, but it's difficult bc of grammar. I've been frustrated with this too! Sometimes I'll just go with the improper grammar like "I'm an adhd person", but it doesn't rly sound right, and i think a neurotypical person using it like that would bother me the same way "transgendered" does. "Attention deficit hyperactive person" is kinda a mouthful, but do u think "ADH person" would be recognisable?
I agree that there’s a difference between what one says about their own self, and that someone who’s outgroup says. Sometimes I’ll say “I’m adhd” instead of any of the other options, because it’s the most concise way to express it. Who’s listening matters a lot though, I wouldn’t say it to people who might go on to say “You’re adhd” to anyone.
I’ve heard some people in the adhd community use the word “adhd-er” which works better spoken than typed, and even then is pretty awkward to my ears.
The difference between these terms and “transgendered” is that in my experience, any trans words/labels function best as adjectives. Not nouns, and not verbs. “a transgender” and “transgendering” for example of why those don’t work.
Though I find that even though adhd and autism work in multiple parts of speech, I prefer them as adjectives too.

Circe, it just came out this year! I haven’t started it yet, but it’s about a goddess who appears in the Odyssey. From what I’ve seen from just searching around, she’s written as bi in this and Achilles and Patroclus are mentioned at one point
