If that were actually true, then why would he ever help her escape from Jericho? If Laurel was already controlling Tyler at that point, he would never have allowed Wednesday to leave, because without Wednesday’s blood, Laurel couldn’t complete the ritual. Letting her go would have directly gone against Laurel’s entire plan. On top of that, Tyler willingly gave Wednesday access to her father’s files from the police station. That wasn’t something he was forced to do it was a choice. And that choice matters, because it’s one of the main reasons Wednesday started to like him in the first place. Tyler was stubborn, and we all know how stubborn Wednesday is. Usually, no one can handle that side of her. People either give up or try to control her. Tyler did neither he endured it.What Wednesday saw in Tyler was someone who didn’t care about power, status, or control. He wasn’t easily bribed, intimidated, or manipulated. When they first met, their stubbornness immediately clashed. Wednesday even offered Tyler $40 to quit his job on the spot and leave with her, fully expecting him to give in. But Tyler didn’t. He stood his ground and proved that he was just as stubborn as she was and that was the moment Wednesday backed down.That’s exactly why Wednesday didn’t want Tyler to die and become nothing more than a servant to the masters. There’s even that deleted scene from season 2, where Wednesday is being buried alive. Tyler speaks, and Wednesday responds, “will you keep obeying the masters? Yeah, of course you are.” That line alone shows how she sees him not as a monster, but as someone who’s been used.Wednesday felt sympathy for Tyler as a human being. He was someone who had principles, who didn’t want to hurt others, and who deserved more than a life of being controlled. She didn’t want him to remain just another tool for the masters.
