Wyrd Things
So, I'm reading this book, and it feels like I've already read it. I as really excited to get to it, to learn new things about language, letters and Europe before it fucked itself. It's neat, just like the book I'm reading alongside it. They complement each other.
On De Ja Vu
My friend Joe told me when you get de-ja-vu it sometimes means that it's just your spirit expressing resonance with you being in the right place, doing the right things on your path. On the farm, I was getting de ja vu with simple actions about once a week, things I'd never done before. I haven't experienced it since then until last week, when I've had it about seven or eight times. I woke up one morning last week and after drinking a hard cider and brushing my teeth I was sitting in the dark, going over a dream when it felt as if my brain was on fire. It wasn't painful, but it felt like many neurons were firing all at once. I lost the dream in that experience, but my awareness has been slightly short circuited since then, but I've been much more peaceful feeling and less analytic. I went to an open mic and got a spirit high and since then have had three experiences with de ja vu. One was while writing a list of desires for loose leaf teas and essential oils. Then I went to CVS and got lost for an hour, wandering amongst the wonders.
It's been a small dream of mine to open up an apothecary and spa, but not for relaxation but spiritual rejuvenation, coupled with an erotic get-away eco village attachment. I've been thinking about it more and more recently and have been sincerely trying in whatever way I can to indulge that simple vision. CVS and Walgreens, though perversions of apothecaries, still hold that fascination. On my days off in Germany, I would visit the numerous Apotekes and other pharmacy looking places and spend hours reading the labels on all of the bottles.
It's the glass, and creams and plant matter with their witchy healing properties that fascinate me. CVS has changed a lot in the past year. I have no idea if it's related to the inevitable changes to healthcare, but they're completely rearranged the feng-shui in all of them and all of the medicinal aisles are arranged homeopathically. It was a relief to see that! We do so much self-diagnosing these days it seems as if doctors only exist to treat more horrible ailments. As I was looking for skin remedies, I got a really weird vision. Like if I closed my eyes I saw an entirely different place, old wood, dusty bottles, little gremlins in the racks. As I closed my eyes and wandered, I would stop at a random time and open my eyes. I found witch hazel, lavender oil, epsom salts and bobby pins. When I was picking up each item, I got de-ja-vu again.
I don't know if I'm experiencing a neurological problem, but I hope it's something more positive.
Getting witchsy tricksy again.
