Prompt list for #wyrmtober!
hope to see you all this October! praise the wyrm :)
3. Pentex First Team
(CW: possession, violence (multispecies!), unreality)
Ace of Clubs and Nine of Hearts, Five of Clubs, Two of Diamonds. There's been others, too, of course, but these are the ones that count.
The first was a poor old fool from Elbe, who moved for the money. He got the money and he lost his soul. Now something else lives in his bones, something that hunts dogs in the night and skins them for his evening meal. It knows the terrible smell of power, real power, and how to cut it.
The second is a lawyer, or says she is. She says a lot of things. She says she's not afraid of the others, doesn't have any regrets about Pentex, but does that sound likely to you? Sometimes you can hear her little gasps when she sees the corpses in the morning.
The third has forgotten who she is. Be sure to thank Special Projects for that one. But she likes killing people, and that's what she's good at; knives, strings, blunt objects. There's a hole in her jacket - you can see the knife through it. She hasn't noticed, and nobody's told her. It's never been the case that people can run from her.
The fourth is new, so new, but eventually they'll crack him too. He's just a subcontractor - a security consultant, God, practically a PI. The plan is to get him into the business, break him down, and then move something else into him. Only Nine of Hearts cares, and that only in case he takes her with him.
They stalk the urban jungle, taking what their masters want, killing who they want killed. If you draw these four cards, you are a target. It's a curse of theirs. Remain calm, and bribe their bosses at the earliest opportunity. Or run.

WELCOME TO WYRMTOBER 🌀
rules and faq:
we are a month-long creative challenge based on events like whumptober, themed around the Wyrm from WOD and its forces human or otherwise. we have a theme for every day that can be ignored or interpreted to your whims, and be used as inspiration for any medium!
you don’t have to do one, much less all. and we love every one you post! please tag this blog and use the tag #wyrmtober25 so we can see your art and repost it. PLEASE make sure to warn for sensitive content as appropriate.
this blog is run by @evenpeaks, the Mystery Marckus Man who uses he/him and is also hoping to post every day.
Questions:
By WOD, does this also include H:tP or my own games with friends?
Yes! Mod here, I love H:tP and I want to know about your games. OCs are also great.
Do I get a reward for doing every day?
You get a doodle/drabble from me and also I put you on a masterpost for completionist status. If you don’t? You still get plenty of attention!
Happy October and praise the Wyrm!
Prompt list:
1. Bane
(obligatory warnings of death, body horror, disfigurement, unreality)
It will come to you in the shape of a man, tall, gaunt. It will wear a suit and whisper lies to you. It will seem ready to bargain, but remember that it has only one master.
The thin man walks, each step carefully measured, across the Roman streets. It can survive the daylight, as long as it doesn't let any of the holes show. The face must be visible. A pity, but it makes do. Paints it skin-white, wears lenses. All the body is a sham anyway. When it comes to the sewer, it takes off and folds its clothes; hides them, nearby, inside a box that does not like to be noticed. A gift from the thin man's maker. Then it raises its wrist to its mouth and tears a hole open. Its teeth are rotten. No matter. So is its skin. Out streams its essence. Down into the drain. There the thin man will find its way back to those ancient ritual halls it calls home, as Roman rats eat its stolen skin up. It can always make another disguise.
They must be summoned, and they must be fed. Let a thief starve to death, hollow out his corpse (personally), and perform the usual rites, filling the corpse with brackish water. Once summoned, it will eat whatever you feed it. The creatures can pass for human enough to run your errands; feed them before and after this. Recall that these Banes are in the water, not the man; this classes them as true manifest spirits, not Fomori, and allows them to shape, shed and reform their skin as well as informing the rites to reshape or banish them. It is wise to keep this from your enemies. If one proves a worthy servant, consider enchanting its skin with further power. Charms that destroy or disorient are especially well-liked.
Take care that they are fed.
