NSO in Your Neighborhood - Wytold and Christylez Bacon at EchoStage in Washington, DC on January 9, 2015.
Tonight I went with some friends to an electric string quartet concert where they focused on post-classical remixes of rap and hip-hop, with some other stuff like John Williams occasionally folded in. The name of the performance was "Biggie, Beethoven, Busta, and Bach," and the lead artist has a bandcamp page, if you want to look him up (although those pieces seem to have more beatboxing).
To give you an idea of what it was like, they opened the show with a mix of Europe and Canon in D and they ended it with a mashup of Tchaikovsky and Eminem. I don't think any of the pieces were titled, but I decided to nickname the former "Pachelbel's Countdown" and the latter "1812 Mile."
It was really good.
