Phones ... one of the greatest human inventions, but also one of the most annoying. After the fourth ‘message not sent’ notification, Hyunjae gripped the mess of glass and plastic and shook it a bit. He just wanted to contact a friend, why was technology so bent on hindering that ? Apparently the secret to making phones work was to, ah, delicately shake it; his phone made a soft beep as his set of messages were finally sent. Hyunjae’s lips stretched into a devious smile almost immediately.

What does your character’s home look like? Personal taste? Clothing? Hair? Appearance? // welcome!!
long answer beloooooow~
given that haeji has a budgeted income and has only been around about a year, her home doesn’t quiet reflect her as well as she’d like. but she’s lucky enough to have been able to afford the up front fees for a nice place in songcheon apartments with the help of the money she was left after her parents’ deaths and, when supplemented with the money she makes being a part time live-in babysitter, she is able to make everything work out so long as she stays frugal.
while her home is clean and well maintained, its relatively bare. her furniture mid-range in terms of price, sturdy and nice looking but not always to her taste. the most important part, to her, was that when she moved in, she was able to function and have everything she would need to get her work done. no frills. not much as changed since then. a few decor items have wandered in. but one could certainly call the space nice, but simple.
visual example
her personal taste hasn’t fulled established itself yet. but she tends to enjoy things that have a feminine air to them, without being over the top. bright and airy, sleek yet charming. muted tones with hints of pastel. at nineteen, she’s still exploring a lot about the world, which includes things like clothing style and home decor. there are times were she’ll be adventurous with her choices and other times where she pulls back, opting for what might be considered bland or boring. these things will only be refined with time.
when it comes to clothing, she errs on the side of gently feminine with a mix of a slightly harder style that she picked up somewhere along the line and mixed into what she likes. she’s fond of skirts and shorts during her day to day life, though when working, she is much more conservative, opting for leggings or comfortable jeans that allow her to keep up with the children she takes care of. over all, her color palette tends to mix blacks with lighter colors, anything too bright not to be seen in her wardrobe.

prior to her parents’ deaths, haeji’s hair tended to be very traditional; either her natural black or a soft brown. sometime during the months afterwards, as haeji was trying to cope, she decided to go blonde for a while. the little bit of freedom gave her the feeling of control in her life again for a while and she decided to keep it. since then, she’s decided to do a soft gray tone in her locks, though she’s not sure how long it will last. despite her conservative upbringing, she now looks forward to trying out new things with her hair.

in terms of appearance, she tried to always look put together. not so much in a fancy or formal way, but she likes to take the few extra seconds before leaving the house to check herself before heading out into her day. makeup tends to be more focused on her eyes when she puts on any at all, but her day to day look is simple: consisting mostly of a little eyeliner, mascara, light blush and a tinted gloss or lip balm. though when she does put more on, she likes to tint her lips a reddish pink.
what's your favorite thing to drink during autumn/winter? // welcome !!
❝ you better believe its apple cider and hot chocolate. i can’t pick between the two. i’m fond of anything warming when the weather starts cooling down. so long as it isn’t pumpkin spice flavored. i don’t get that hype at all. ❞
How does your character react to stress situations? Defensively? Aggressively? Evasively? Why do you think this is? // welcome
this question would draw a really long answer, because i think ultimately she’s capable of many natural responses when it comes to situations. i think her initial response to strangers or unknowns is definitely aggression. to family related stress, she tends to grow defensive and introspective. lover causing her stress will send her reeling, a mixture of the two, defensive at times, aggressive at others.
what are some things you find endearing in people? (Boyoung) // welcome !!
“Uh, I like when people are themselves, you know? When they express themselves freely. Those little things they do when they think no one is looking and maybe got embarrassed about when they get caught. Or things they usually say. Stuff like that.”
Soft beats played through the speakers of his car as he waited in-front of the dormitories for his brother to come out. Last night he had promised Xavier a day out since he had been rather busy the last two weeks with work, and he hated having him feel a bit of upset due to Eli’s own actions. His younger brother had honestly been the reason for Eli’s relocation to Wonyang several months prior. Previously he had been very much isolated from his family only really making contact through Xavier. It wasn’t that Elijah did not want to go back - he just couldn’t not with that ass of a man living there. Blood always boiled at the though of his father and the destruction he caused to the family. Digits tightened around the steering wheel in response before quickly loosening. It wasn’t that he had a dark persona he just was very passionate about his feelings when it came to injustice. Therefore he came across as a troublemaker a ‘bad person’ when all he wanted was to look out for the little guy. A rough sigh came from his lips as she turned the music up slightly - the song was a track from zn3t1k spotify, an artist he listened to quite frequently.
Dark orbs look up from the controls to see his brother approaching the car, prompting the elder to get out of the vehicle -- somewhat of a habit when seeing his siblings. The man stood and stretched until Xavier came close, before the younger could even speak her pulled him into a hug - hand going to ruffle his hair affectionately. “Aye Xavvie” he chuckled before letting him go, hands going into pockets. “I’m here to break you out of this hell hole.” It wasn’t that Yongjae hated the school system. He just hated the fact that his brother had to study his brain out for something a piece of paper. “We can do anything you want but first we must eat.” It had been several -- hours maybe half a day since the elder had last eaten. Usually it was him scolding his younger siblings about the importance of eating three meals a day, however here he was not eating due to work deadlines.
“Why don’t you get in and we’ll decide where to go. I just gotta get out of here before they try to enroll me.” He teased lightheartedly as he chuckled. He motioned to the passenger side before sliding back into his car and shutting the door.
