What are the different scientists's thoughts on the subjects?

Ex

He doesn’t see anything truly wrong with all this. Yes, he ripped these people away from their lives and their loved ones, but it was necessary for the advancement of human evolution. How the subjects feel isn’t important.

Xisuma

He hates that they’ve all been forced into this. He wants to help them get out of it, but he doesn’t know how. Still, he looks for ways to sabotage the experiments and buy the subjects some extra time.

Doc

They’re nothing more than lab rats with unnecessary emotions. He would much rather be working with actual rats as they’re much easier to deal with, but he knows they would get the results they wanted if they didn’t do these experiments on people. Subject 007 gets on his nerves.

Zedaph

He hasn’t met any of the subjects personally. The guy hasn’t even seen them in real life. He’s completely under the impression that everyone being tested is doing so willingly.

Aaaannnnnd the big reveal!! Our fourth scientist is Doc!! Congratulations for those of you who figured it out! Your prize is knowing that you put together context clues. :)

I’m genuinely very happy with Doc’s design. From my impression of him, it seems very ‘Doc.’

As of right now, these will be all of our important scientists to the plot. If there are any others, I’ll absolutely post their designs, but I think they’ll just be pencil sketched or lined doodles.

I’ve also realized that on Instagram and TikTok I end all my posts with “DO NOT REPOST/TRACE/STEAL MY ARTWORK” and uhhh.. I have not been doing that here.. I should.. go.. fix that soon.

So.. yeah. Please don’t do those things with my art. Thank you!

I was thinking about Doc being the head of experimentation and I had a thought... So headcanon time!!

Doc is intimidating, even to some of the scientists, he'll stalk up and down the halls, making sure everything is perfect. As he does, his prosthetic eye swivels so he can watch everyone. He doesn't speak much to the subjects, only a few words if he must. Then he's gone and does it all again every few hours.

That’s pretty accurate, actually.

Doc is a scary guy with scary ambitions. Don’t get in his way, and it’ll be fine (if you’re a fellow scientist).

x!ren and x!doc who had recently been fighting due to the fact ren was getting so close to martyn. doc was beginning to get jealous and thought if ren was going to love martyn so much, doc should be able to see him suffer. So he told the other scientists that martyn could be a candidate. If martyn hadn’t looked at that camera, he wouldn’t’ be at the labs. He wasn’t ‘fit’ for powers. But he ruined it for himself. and then when doc realised ren was going to find out, as ren began to panic, calling the police about his friend, he made ren go to. He couldn’t care less anymore. ren betrayed him. Doc’s husband was going to die, and he was going to die at docs hands.

Oooo this is a really fun “what if.”

I’ll have to think about if Ren and Doc knew each other beforehand. I know for a fact that Ren and Martyn didn’t meet until after being abducted, but the other two have the potential to have some great angsty chemistry between them.

Do they have some kind of different connection in the au? Not as in them being together but like.. maybe doc actually feeling bad for ren?

I’m a little surprised more people on Tumblr didn’t say something after the second chapter. I think quite a few comments on Ao3 got it though!

I honestly had no idea they were canonically married. That is so very interesting… I’ll have to do some research on their dynamic (the most exposures I’ve had to these two is them vs. the Buttercups).

I have two questions! Both Doc related!

1) How did he get his cybernetic eye?

2) Why does he have a nickname (I'm assuming) instead of a full name?

I’ve been waiting for some Doc questions!! :DD

1.) He lost both his left eye and his right arm after an accident in an experiment several years prior. Maybe it was from Project Enhancement, maybe it was from something before that. I dunno, haha!

2.) Lore reasoning? He’s a very private man when it comes to his personal life, and Lacuna Labs allowed him to keep his privacy since he’s such a valuable asset. Actual reason? I had no idea what to call him. Like genuinely.
