Summary: after you and Billie had been friends when you were both teenagers, but drifted apart many years ago, you finally reconnect.
No warnings. Fluff.
You were all smiles and giddiness as you moved about the large room where the award ceremony was taking place, though currently there was a small break.
You greeted absolutely everybody, familiar or not. If you didn't know them, then you got to know them. You were so excited to be there you couldn't help but be chatty.
There was a permanent smile on your face as you greeted everyone, compliments leaving your mouth before you could stop them. People were quick to adapt to your cheery mood, returning the energy you radiated.
"Look at you!" You fawned over Sabrina's dress, staring at her in awe, she looked beautiful.
Sabrina dismissed the praise, "girl, look at you!" She returned your compliment sincerely, a smile on her face as she pulled you into an embrace. You giggled as you hugged her back.
Sabrina's friends pulled her away eagerly for something important, they spoke too fast for you to understand.
"I'll find you!" Sabrina promised as she got pulled away, you couldn't help but laugh at the scene.
You continued your walk as people called out compliments to you, your spirits only growing higher.
As you were walking, you suddenly felt a person bump into you, catching you off guard. Surprised, you turned around to face them, the mystery person turning to you at the same time.
Shock hit you as you stared at those ocean eyes you hadn't seen in years. When it finally registered in your mind that Billie was standing right infront of you, your lips broke into a large grin.
Billie had looked just as shocked to see you. She hadn't been in the same room as you in years. The last time she saw you in person was when the two of you were best friends. She had changed a lot since then, for one, her hair had been blue.
To finally come face to face with you again after all these years, she was shocked, but then the shock turned into excitement as she smiled back at you widely.
"I don't believe it!" You squealed in excitement, "Billie!" You quickly pulled her into a tight hug.
Billie laughed as she allowed herself to be pulled against you, wrapping her arms around your figure.
"Y/n!" She shouted, just as you did, not being able to contain her own happiness.
Nothing bad had happened between the two of you when you stopped being best friends. Billie had gotten famous before you, she became busy. Then, your career had taken off and you became busy aswell. Your schedules never aligned and time became rare. You drifted apart naturally but there was never any bad blood between you two.
For Billie, to finally see you again was an unimaginable feeling of joy, that feeling mutual for you too.
Billie swayed your body with hers, left and right, as she giggled. She hugged you tight, not wanting to let go. Neither of you could stop smiling. This had to be the highlight of the night.
Your heart beated with joy as you hel her.
Eventually, you two pulled away. Billie kept her arms around your waist, your hands on top of them, for a moment you just stared at eachother in disbelief.
"I can't believe I'm actually seeing you right now!" Billie chuckled, her blue eyes shining bright.
You nodded you head adamantly, "me neither!" You breathed out.
Billie's eyes scanned over your face and body briefly, but taking in each and every detail about you.
She looked back up at you, meeting your gaze, her head shaking slowly as she finally processed you, being here in her arms. "I've missed you so much, baby girl. " She cooed, her voice tender and every word genuine.
You giggled, your face flushing. "I've missed you too, Bill's." You said shyly, causing Billie to smile wider.
Billies hands then reached up to cup your face in the palm of her hands, playfully she pulled your face closer to hers as she giggled childishly, making silly faces as your foreheads rested against eachother, the tips of your noses touching. On instinct, your hands found Billies waist.
The pair of you were like two kids, giggling uncontrollably as Billie's hands remained holding your face.
"I don't ever want to drift apart again." Billie admitted once she recovered from her laughing fit, her voice softer. "We should stick together."
"Like birds of a feather." You joked, causing Billie to start giggling again.
Disappointment sinked in once the award ceremony began to start back again, everyone returning to their assigned seats.
"I should go." You whispered, not needing to speak any louder with your face so close to hers.
Billie removed her hands from your face and intertwined them with yours. You stared down at them. "If you go, I'm going too." She said firmly.
You laughed. "But Billie, we have assigned seats, and yours is at the other end of the room." You reminded her, though you didn't want to separate from her either.
"I'll share yours." Billie shrugged. "What are they going to do, kick us out?" She joked, a smirk on her face.
You shook your head slowly with a small smile at her antics. You were grateful not to have to leave her, especially when you've only just gotten her back again.
With your hands laced with hers, you gently tugged at her arm as you led the way to your seat. Both of you wore identical, large, shit-eating grins on your face.
A/n: this is loosely based on the scene from the office with Pam and her mom, talking about Jim.
No warnings.
"Mom!" You squealed eagerly as you ran up to your mother, pulling her into a tight embrace.
Your mother's head tipped back as she laughed, just as eager to see you as you were.
You opened your eyes and pulled back, looking over her shoulder and seeing your dad enter into your house. You smiled widely as you ran to give him a hug as well.
Your dad laughed, a loud genuine laugh that made it clear he had missed you and was just as happy as you were. He wrapped his arms around you as he placed a kiss on the crown of your head. "Hi sweetie." He smiled, resting his chin on your head.
"You guys finally made it!" You sighed in relief.
Your parents had agreed to stay at your home for a few days, it being the first time since you had moved in. They were eager to see your house and the area you lived in, but also to see and spend time with you.
"Traffic was bad, we came as fast as we would." Said your dad, he brought his and your mothers suitcase into the house, leaving them neatly by the door to bring to their room later.
"Hello mr and mrs y/l/n!" Your boyfriend walked out of the living room and to the main hall where you and your parents stood. He smiled charmingly at the two, eager to make the best impression.
"Hello James." Your mother smiled politely at him, she gave him a quick kiss to his cheek in greeting.
"How are you?" Your dad was next to greet him, he offered his hand for James to shake.
"I'm doing well Mr Y/l/N, I can't complain." James said sincerely. Both your parents nodded and smiled politely.
A series of laughter and friendly competitive arguing suddenly came from the living room, it seemed your friends had finished another round of uno.
Your eyes lit up as you looked between your parents, who looked slightly confused. "I completely forgot to tell you!" You clapped your hands together, "my friends are here, I didn't know what time you guys were coming over at, but I'll let them know you're here, they'll be leaving soon-" you rambled on.
Suddenly your mother seemed very excited, she glanced up at her husband who smiled down at her knowingly.
"No, no, let them stay!" Your mother dismissed, "I want to meet them!"
"Really? Aren't you guys tired from the drive over?" You asked skeptically, unsure if they were being honest or just polite.
Your mother shook her head. "No, we've got a few hours left in us before we're ready for bed." Your dad reassured you.
You shrugged, glancing over to James. "If you guys are sure..."
Your mother smiled once again as she followed you and James into the living room, dragging your father with her who didn't refuse being pulled about.
Walking into the living room you were met with the sight of roughly ten of your friends gathered around the small coffee table, all sitting criss crossed on the carpet floor. There were coaches and armchairs behind them but everyone chose to sit on the floor, wanting to be closer.
On the coffee table there were uno cards stacked messily, some obviously put down in frustration and away from the main pile in the centre. Whilst they argued over people cheating, four of your other friends stood in the joint kitchen, cups of coffee and tea in their hands, the environment far more peaceful then in the living room.
"everyone!" You called over the screaming, "my parents have finally arrived!" You smiled.
Upon your announcement, everyone turned to look at you and your family. The yelling in the living room stopped as your friends turned slightly to look at the unfamiliar faces. Those that had been in the kitchen stepped into the living room to greet the newcomers.
Suddenly the raised voices that had been yelling accusations of cheating and lying, turned into welcoming greetings and introductions. Your friends all smiled and waved at your parents, who reciprocated the action, trying to process all the names that they were suddenly being told.
Your closest friend, Vivienne, walked over from the kitchen and embraced your mother in a warm hug, not having seen her in years. "I've missed you Maria!" She said excitedly to your mother.
"I've missed you too dear!" Your mother said, placing a comforting hand on the back of the younger girls head as she hugged her.
"did you finish building that workshop Jonathan?" Your other friend, Alex, stood from his spot on the floor, walking over to your dad and giving him a good hand shake. Alex had became victim to one of your dads passionate rants over the phone about the workshop he was building, despite never meeting in real life. Although Alex was mostly teasing, your dad smiled at him for remembering.
"its almost finished, I'll show you some pictures." Your dad said, following Alex into the kitchen. Your other friends, Quen, Natalie and Nat followed him. Not because they were any bit interested in the workshop or the pictures he had, but because they loved pestering your dad for stories from when he was in a boy band in the 80s. Especially because they would find ways to tease you about it.
Your dad had a habit of storytelling and reminiscing about the past, a habit your friends more than encouraged.
James soon followed where your dad had went to, always eager for his approval. Something your dad was completely oblivious too.
Some of your friends here had already met your parents and they had gotten close with them which warmed your heart. Your parents were incredibly kind and loved getting to know them.
Vivienne and Odessa stayed chatting with you and your mother, complimenting her outfit and how young she looked, making your mother a blushing mess. When the two girls left to go listen to your dad tell stories, your mother turned to you excitedly.
She leaned in closer, trying to keep her voice down but ultimately failing.
"So, which one is Billie?" She giggled excitedly, looking over at the three other people who were still huddled around the coffee table, tidying the uno cards back up.
Your eyes widened as your face reddened in embarrassment, your mother had spoken so loudly you were sure Billie had heard. "Mom!" You whisper yelled. You glanced nervously over at Billie, her back was towards you and you were relieved to see she hadn't reacted, continuing to pack up the game cards. Maybe she hadn't heard.
"what!" Your mother defended herself, her childish grin still on her face. "I want to finally meet the girl my daughter is always talking about, your father does too. I feel like i know her already from all the times you talk my ear off about her-"
You cut your mother off in embarrassment. "I do not- can we not do this right now?" You mumbled quickly. Your mother was quick to notice your nervousness and blushing face as the corners of your lips lifted slightly into a smile, no doubt you were flustered.
She looked at you knowingly. "Fine, fine." She raised her hands up in surrender, "but we want to meet her."
You rolled your eyes playfully, waving her off as you took a final glance at Billie before walking towards the kitchen. "Go out and stop dad from saying anything embarrassing, I'll get you your wine." You quickly excused yourself, not being able to hide your smile any longer.
You heard your mothers laugh behind you as you walked away.
Little did you know, Billie had heard everything, it was impossible not too. She bit her lip as she grinned to herself, tidying up the uno cards extra slow, wanting to hear more of you and your mothers conversation about her.
"I want to finally meet the girl my daughter is always talking about."
So you talked about her to your parents? Billie's heart leaped at the thought. She felt a blush of her own heat up her face as she put the cards back into the box. She felt giddy and excited at the thought, at the possibility that her feelings for you weren't one sided.
She heard you leave the kitchen and realized she was the only one left inside. Once the uno cards were out back in their original place she began making her way to the back garden where everyone was sitting around on the outside chairs and couches, listening instantly to one of your fathers stories that everyone enjoyed listening to.
Once she walked outside all eyes were on her. It was a feeling Billie had grown accustomed to, being in the public eye for most of her life, but something about feeling your stare on her made her nervous.
She looked over to your mother Maria first, who's eyes sparkled knowingly.
Then she looked to you as you stood from you seat in-between Quen and Odessa. You walked over slowly to her, your sweet scent invading her senses, not that she minded.
A jolt of electricity ran through Billie's veins as you gently placed your hand on her arm. You smiled shyly at her, a smile that meant everything to her.
You looked over to your parents, beckoning them over. "Mom, dad, this is Billie." You said quietly, nervously.
Your moms entire face lit up as she looked between you and Billie.
Quickly she rushed forward, pulling Billie into a warm hug. "Billie, it is wonderful to finally meet you!" The older woman smiled, elated to finally meet her.
"and you mrs y/l/n!" Billie chuckled, relaxing into the woman's embrace, her nerves vanishing.
Your mother pulled away from the hug, frowning playfully at Billie. "Call me Maria." She insisted.
"and you can call me John." Your father walked up behind your mother, pulling Billie into a small hug of his own.
Billie smiled gratefully at their kindness. "Very nice to meet you, John and Maria."
The two parents exchanged pleased smiles, almost a proud look on their faces.
Your parents returned to their seats and a conversation started up again with all your friends, your boyfriend and your parents.
You had to admit from watching that entire exchange you found it weird. James was your boyfriend and yet neither of your parents gave him their wish for him to address them by their first names. Your dad had hugged Billie whilst gave James a courtly shake of the hand, the same with your mother, she had hugged Billie but only gave James a quick peck on the cheek.
You remained standing beside Billie, in a daze of confusion but also relief that everything had gone well and your parents were finally here.
Billie turned to you, leaning in closer to whisper in your ear, "you talk about me to your parents?" She asked mischievously with a smirk, refering to your previous conversation. Obviously she had gained a bigger eggo from your parents enthusiasm and insistence on meeting her.
You felt butterflies in your stomach as you returned to your previous flustered state. You bit the inside of your cheek to restrain your grin. You hated that she had heard that entire conversation, knowing Billie would never let it go. Though secretly you were glad Billie had heard.
"shut up." You laughed making Billie's grin widen.
Knowing you were blushing and not wanting to give Billie more things to tease you about, you turned to walk back to the rest of the group.
Your heart sped up when you felt Billie take your hand in hers, intertwining your fingers and letting you lead her wherever you wanted, her smirk never once falling.

Billie stared down at her hands, moving and twisting the rings on her fingers absentmindedly as her team talked, mostly between themselves about details that weren't particularly important for Billie to know.
She was going on tour for her new album, 'Hit Me Hard and Soft', which meant a lot of meetings. However it was different, this entire tour would be different then her previous ones, because you were going to be with her.
Billie knew immediately she wanted you to be the opening act for her tour, she went straight to you before any member of her team.
Her knee bounced up and down as she tried to stay awake, which was hard but she knew she had to.
Billie hummed a tune in her mind, thinking about future plans in her head as she fiddled with her rings.
She was completely lost in her thoughts, slapped by reality when she felt a weight on her shoulder. She looked down slightly, trying her best not to move too much, and then she realised.
By accident, you had managed to fall asleep, your head falling against Billie's shoulder who sat beside you in the meeting room.
Billie looked down at you, slightly surprised.
You were at the meeting with her since you were going to be the opening act on the tour, and there were a few details Billie's team had to talk you through.
The meeting was nearing its end though, all the important things said and explained, and Billie would answer any questions you had anyway.
She knew you were up all night reading some book you had bought, or finishing a painting you had begun, it was a habit of yours she knew all too well.
She couldn't help but smile down at you, having the feeling of butterflies fluttering in her stomach. She took the time to admire your peaceful expression, how you smiled even in your sleep, how clear and soft your skin looked and the pretty rose colour of your lips and cheeks.
Billie soon realised she enjoyed the feeling of you laying your head on her shoulder, the closeness it brought. It felt as if a butterfly had landed on her shoulder, delicate and gentle. Billie could smell your vanilla perfume and she could feel your hair prickle against her neck, leaving a slight ticklish feeling she managed to ignore.
Her manager and team droned on in murmurs, she found herself not paying attention, her attention solely on you.
Billie found herself smiling without releasing, but once she did she couldn't hide it. She allowed herself to relish in your presence and under your touch.
She looked away from you shyly even if you were asleep and couldn't see. She felt giddy and completely happy, almost like all her other desires had vanished.
Billie bit her bottom lip as she looked down at her lap. She was sure she was blushing. It was a simple act and yet it had completely taken a hold over her.
As she stared down at the floor Billie realised how fast her heart was thumping in her chest, and how she had the urge to stay in this position and not wake you, bask in the feeling of your head on her shoulder.
You weren't big on physical touch, just offering a short and quick hug here and there, or slightly leaning against her when you two walked side by side, but in this moment you were completely still and relaxed against her. She could really cherish the moment, you didn't pull away and you weren't going anywhere.
Billie wasn't one to get nervous easily or often, she was usually quite a confident person. That never changed much when it came to people she previously had feelings for, but with you that all changed.
As she sat there in the meeting room, Billie was nothing but nerves, scared she would move by accident and wake you, scared that you would pull away and scared she that you may never get this close with her again.
She didn't realise the meeting had ended until people began walking out of the room, one by one, some stopping to talk with others.
Billie frowned as she remained seated, unsure of what to do. She watched people leave the room one by one as she contemplated if she should wake you or not.
Twelve became six and six became three and suddenly it was just Billie and you, alone together with you remaining asleep.
She looked down at you one last time, her smile returning as she noticed how peaceful you looked. She didn't want to wake you but knew you had plans of your own that you had to get to.
Billie hid her smile as she leaned slightly closer to you. "Ahem." She cleared her throat, "hey." She called softly towards you ear. Billie watched you stir awake slowly, your features turning confused as you adjusted yourself in the seat. "Hey." Billie said again, this time with you awake.
She hid her disappointment when you lifted your head from her shoulder rather quickly.
You looked around at the now empty room, which had been full when you arrived, and then to Billie, quickly putting the pieces together as to what had happened.
You cringed, feeling embarrassed, causing your face to flush as you stood up. "Im so sorry." You said, your voice slightly hoarse from sleep. "I don't remember falling asleep, you should have pushed me away or something." You joked, feeling awkward.
Billie looked up at you with a shake of her head. "I didn't mind." She had a small smile on her face that made you believe her words.
You smiled back. You were relieved that you didn't annoy her. "I'll see you around?" You asked shyly.
Billie nodded her head, slightly laughing as she watched you be all cute and shy. "For sure." She said confidently.
With one last smile to her you left the room, you face a rosy hue.
When the room was empty and it was just her, Billie laughed quietly to herself, beginning to play with her rings once again. She smiled at the memory of you asleep on her shoulder, noticing immediately how she longed for you to do it again.
A/N: this is part two of 'Stranger' hope you like it. I will not be making this a series or doing another continued part to this, as I find it so unmotivating to write for some stupid reason.
Also I posted this early by accident when it was incomplete so let's ignore that🧍♀️

PART 1 ⬇️
Hey there beautiful, I have a request if that's okay!
We’re a bartender at the local bar where Billie lives, and it's been a rough day for
Since finding out who Billlie was, you couldn't help but read up on the countless articles written about her or the interviews she had done. It was approaching two weeks since Billie had sat at the end of the bar, two weeks since you had talked to her, two weeks since you had found out who she was.
You had thought about the interaction quite a bit between then and now, it made you eager to see her again.
You didn't tell anyone about your encounter with the superstar, keeping it your own little secret.
Tonight was like all other nights at work, the bar was buzzing with life as people danced and drank. Your shift had ended but your promised to give one of the girls you worked along with a ride home, so you waited at one of the tables near the back until she finished work, which wouldn't be long now.
With not much else to do, you stared out at the crowd infdont of you, watching drunk people dance and stumble about as your foot bounced to the beat of the music.
The colourful lights flashed across the dancing crowd, briefly highlighting each face they landed on. It was then that you seen her face already staring at you.
"I just need to change and get my shit, I'll meet you here ok?"
The figure of your coworker blocked your vision as she stood in front of you, just now finishing her shift. You blinked once, twice, looking up at her dumbly before regaining yourself.
"Yeah, that's fine." You nodded your head with a smile. She smiled back before disappearing into the crowd to the staff locker rooms.
When she left a familiar stranger took her place infront of you.
"What are you doing here?" You tried to remain casual.
Billie smiled, mischief twinkling in her eyes.
"You don't want to see me?" She teased, her head titling to the side.
You avoided her question by asking a new one. "Your friends drag you here again?"
"No. It was my idea this time." Billie said sweetly. She took a seat across from you at the small table for two which you were sat at.
She looked good, you couldn't help but think. Her raven hair was down, the front shorter pieces framed her face. She wore this mustard coloured jersey and blue denim jeans that hung loosely on her legs. Her neck was decorated genouresly with silver chains and necklaces.
You crossed your arms on the table, leaning in closer to her to be heard over the loud music.
"I've been reading about you." You teased but not a word of it a lie.
Billie quirked a brow, interested. "Oh yeah?" She smiled.
"Mhm." You hummed. You pretended to think for a moment. "I was reading this one interview. For Rolling Stone." You held back your smirk.
Billie didn't react immediately, but slowly, a smile crept onto her face as she leaned in closer over the table.
You continued. "it was really interesting. I read it all." You said innocently.
Billie knew exactly what you were getting at. "I bet you did." She said confidently.
She had this gleam in her eye, confidence, ego, whatever it was, it was addicting.
You leaned back into your seat. "Feels like I know you so well." You muttered.
Billie hummed. "I didn't think you'd take so much interest in me, or my interviews." She said it casually but their was a small bit of arrogance that seeped through into her voice.
You shrugged. "You were asking for it." You argued, referring to how she literally left the Google search of herself on your phone open for you to see.
"I guess I was." Billie agreed. "You seem to know so much about me now, but I still know nothing about you." She pouted.
"What do you want to know." You asked.
Billie poundered the question for a minute before her eyes lit up with an answer. "What's your name, duh."
Only for Billie reminding you, you had completely forgotten you hadn't told her your name yet. You wanted to kick yourself, 'how could you have not told her your name? '
"Y/n." You said with a chuckle, embarrassed that you were only telling her now.
"Y/n." Billie tested it out, "I like it, it's cute." Billie smiled.
You shook your head, the flattery making you awkward.
"So y/n, how old are you?" You could see the curiosity all over Billie's face. It was nice to know she was genuinely interested in getting to know you.
"Twenty two." You replied, making Billie nod.
"Seeing anyone?" Billie asked innocently, yet the question was hesitant. She watched you carefully as she waited for your answer.
You couldn't help but giggle, causing the slightest bit of fear to cross Billie's face, thinking that meant a yes.
"No." You smiled at her. "I'm not seeing anybody."
Relief washed over Billie, she made no move to hide it. "Good." She breathed out.
You cocked your head to the side. "Good?" You prompted her to explain.
"Yeah, good." Was all Billie said, not falling for your trap of getting her to admit something she wasn't ready to admit.
You watched her mouth begin to move again as she said her next question, however you looked away from her and over her shoulder when you recognised your coworker pushing through the crowd.
"Have any plans tonight?" Billie asked.
Your eyes snapped back to her again.
What perfect timing for that question.
"I do." You sat up straighter. "I'm giving my friend a ride home, and we're watching a movie together. She's coming over here now." You removed your jacket from the back of your seat and held it in your hand.
Billie looked at you, disappointed.
You made eye contact with your friend, she noticed the unfamiliar girl sitting across from you at the table, a smirk forming on her lips. She winked at you and began a conversation with the girl standing next to her, something she was able to do with any stranger effortlessly. You were grateful for her for not interrupting.
"When can I see you again?" Billie asked suddenly. You looked at her shocked, not expecting that.
"You want to see me again?" You repeated her question, not believing it. You definitely wanted to see Billie again, you just didn't think the feeling was mutual.
Billie rolled her eyes playfully, a grin on her face.
"Of course i do." She said it like it were obvious.
Your heart quickened it's pace.
"Well, I work most nights-"
"No, I want to talk to you properly, not whilst you work." Billie interrupted. Then an idea came to mind, "Do you know the diner just across the street?" She asked you.
You thought about it for a second before a building came into mind. "The one beside the furniture shop?" You guessed.
"Yes!" Billie said enthusiastically. "How about we meet there, Friday at 2?" She asked hopefully, her eyes shining bright with excitement.
You briefly went through your schedule and plans in your head, relieved when you realised Friday you were completely free. "Yeah, that works." You smiled, your own excitement building.
"Perfect!" Billie grinned.
Without saying anything else, Billie pulled you in for a tight embrace, her arms gently pulled you in for an embrace. With your body so close to hers, you were breathing in her musky vanilla scent. Your heart hammered in your throat as you tried remaining somewhat calm.
Billie caressed your waist with her fingers as she held you. She could smell the shampoo in your hair and the perfume you wore. She didn't know what it was, only that she loved it.
You were disappointed when you felt her pull away.
"I'll see you Friday." Billies voice dropped as she spoke into your ear, pulling away with her face so close to yours.
All you could do was nod, like you were in some sort of trance. This made Billie smirk.
"By y/n." Billie said, grinning, as she turned back to the crowd where she previously was with her friends before coming over to you.
"Who was that fine woman." Your coworker said to you as she joined your side.
"I'll tell you in the car." You shook your head as you tried to collect your thoughts and regain your composure, Billie had left you a complete mess.
