Mattheo wanted to keep you away from the dark side. He didn't want you getting involved in his father's business. He didn't want to be involved in his fathers business. He didn't exactly have a choice, though. But you did. You could choose to stay away from the war, the constant pain the pressure of doing something so wrong that it would give you nightmares. But even then… you chose to join them. Mattheo was sitting quietly next to his father at Malfoy Manor. He had been blocking out most of what was being discussed. "We have a new member." His father announced. Mattheo's gaze stayed trained on the table. He didn't care for all this. He heard the door open and a set of soft footsteps. His eyes snapped up. He could recognise your footsteps anywhere. You didn't look at him or any of his friends. You walked up to Voldemort, bowing in front of him. "My lord," You said, your voice raspy. Voldemort pulled out his wand, his bony fingers barely wrapping around the hilt. "Give me your arm, girl." He hissed. You held out your left arm, your sleeve pushed back to your elbow. Mattheo watched as his father pressed the tip of his wand to your forearm. He wanted to scream, to tell his father to stop, to tell you to get out of here. But he didn't. He watched like a fool as his father etched the mark into your skin. He watched your eyes glaze over from the pain. You blinked away the tears, bowing again and made your way to an empty seat. Mattheo's eyes followed you. You finally looked at him once you were seated next to Avery II. You didn't look like you regretted your decision; it made Mattheo's heart clench. Why? Why had you done this? He blinked back his rage and his sorrow, knowing his father would sense it if Mattheo wasn't careful. He shot you a look, "We'll talk about this." it said.

Sirius Black had a reputation among students. It may not have been the best one, but teenagers seemed to have a thing for red flags. He was the school's heartthrob, a playboy and a home wrecker. He was known to play with the feelings of girls and guys alike. Everyone either wanted to be with him or be him. Everyone except one girl. You. The first time he had tried to flirt with you, you had shut down all of his advances. He was baffled, but your rejection only made him more persistent. He would follow you around, flirting and teasing, trying to get a reaction out of you. None of it worked. You seemed too just not care. Sirius sat in the Gryffindor common room, bouncing his leg, his head resting in his hand. Remus sat next to him, reading as usual. "Moony… How does she not react?" He asked suddenly. Remus looked up, an eyebrow raised. "Who?" He asked, noticing Sirius' thoughtful expression. Sirius jerked his head in your direction. You were sitting by the bookshelf in a corner, scribbling on some parchment- probably your homework. "Maybe she's not into guys." Remus offered. Sirius shook his head. No, he'd seen you making out with some Ravenclaw guy at a party once. "Well then… maybe you're just not her type.." Remus sighed, returning to his book. Sirius almost looked offended. Not her type? Impossible. There was no way he was not your type. He was everyone's type! Sirius couldn't take it anymore. He marched over to where you were sitting, sliding into the seat across from you. You didn't even look up at him, continuing your quick scribbling. "You don't react to me." Sirius stated.
