He’s keeping his profile low, arms crossed as head is lowered until brown eyes lift to the source of the female voice. Obviously someone he knew and clearly he was still surprised she cared enough to tell him they had a tail. So he doesn’t flinch and with the new development of information, it was best he looked unbothered in case they were still being watched. But he does look over at her with a brief arch of his brow before returning to an indifferent look. “Because we’re good looking or you think there’s more to it?” A tease, a small one to keep the mood light despite the possible situation. “Also surprised you care enough, thought you’d want to be the one that looks good in a situation like this.” He adds now moving to stand up straight as he looks over at her. “So, is there a plan you have hatching up in that head of your’s or is this going to have to fall onto me?”

“ I may not be a superhero, but that doesn’t make me helpless,” she said with a frustrated growl. Her hair was disheveled and she was practically covered from head to toe in dust and blood but that’s what happened when you were trying to pull people out of half-collapsed buildings and give them any form of first aid you could manage. “ I did what I could to help. You shouldn’t be getting on my case about it when you do the same thing every day.”

“This is becoming a common occurrence.” Brock replied as she slid herself onto his lap, pushing his chair away from his desk where so happened to be working. Well, trying to work now that Thera walked in. “Ya know, the whole keeping this under wraps thing doesn’t work if you keep doin’ this.” He teased, adjusting his own position to make it easier on the both of them.

The feel of her fingers run along the back of his neck and head, grazing over his short hair, was a welcomed sensation. His head tilted up, looking Thera in the eye as he spoke. His words no doubt a surprise, being romantic wasn’t exactly his strong suit but this moment he couldn’t help but let it out.  “Oh I was thinkin’ someone like me.” He answered, eyes locked with her’s as he spoke. “What do ya say?”

Well, he didn’t expect to learn that. He’d think as the Winter Solider’s handler at one point he would have known his DNA was being used for something. Granted, how could he remember when HYDRA messed with his own mind and body? He’d circle back to that later, they had other pressing concerns. Now they had to go dark, tactical signs being the only means of communication as they infiltrated the base. Brock answered back with the appropriate sign and soon followed behind. Of course he knew saving the assets was a plus but his main objective was blowing this place off the map and in the end it worked out he had an ally in this whole mess.

Conlaodh worked swiftly and with a practiced ease, nodding softly.  “I hold hope that you will lay eyes upon it again.”  He said genuinely, chuckling at the questions.  “My clan went to battle with the Romans, joining forces with other clans to do so.  I insisted upon being a battlefield medic - they won, but the Romans managed to capture me as they fled.  I was helping someone and not paying attention to my surroundings.  A mistake I do not intend to repeat.”  It had been one last insult to his clan, really, especially as he was the son of a Chieftain as well as a Druid and the one they relied upon for many things.  He’d taken over in his adoptive grandmother’s stead - the woman who had taught him everything and a Druid as well.  Finishing cleaning the wounds, Conlaodh applied a poultice to a few of the especially bad ones and began to bandage those.

“Gratitude.” Crixus answered with a slow nod towards the other. “It is a hope I long for, to bring Naevia to freedom there once Rome falls.” Both had the same goal, to end Rome and free those who were crushed under its heel. Once that was done, well he wasn’t exactly thinking that far ahead but the idea of starting a family in Gaul did come to mind every now and then. His thoughts were brief, focused on listening to what the medicus had to say. Crixus did wish to learn where this new member come from and how he found himself in Spartacus’ camp. “And we freed you from your Dominus.”

“Still hurt?” He questioned, a tilt of his head given. That question wasn’t because of concern, he knew better than that. Instead, it seemed more like a test. “No it doesn’t hurt.” He grumbled out a bit as he straightened his trench coat. “I heal fast.” But she knew that. His brow furrowed as hands moved to his side, claws ever present. He never tried to hide them, long enough to always keep him ready for whatever circumstances came his way. “You plannin’ on fixin’ that?” He asked, tempted to extend the claws on his hands almost as a show.
