Bruce goes undercover to investigate a therapist who might have ties to an underground group, but he’s unsure of how involved the guy really is.
He is a licensed, certified and respected therapist in his field. Even done lectures and all that, so Bruce isn’t fooling him with talking out of his ass while confronting him in a professional capacity.
He lets a few details about his family in, some hiccups he’s had along the way with his children who are now grown, mixing the truth with the veil they need to have over their night lives.
Surprisingly. This felt a lot better than he expected to think it would.
He takes a lot more time to consult the guy than he initially expected, because he’ll leave a 90 minute session after simply having talked about his children and the ups and downs of parenthood and how difficult it was to be a role model when he didn't have one himself.
Bruce doesn't really expect anything useful to come out of this. Maybe he would hear the same he had always said to himself. It was all his fault and the kids were right to want low or no contact with him.
What he doesn't except is for the therapist to say that maybe taking a step back from the kids would be good for him as well.
