Conversations with Dumbldore
An actual conversation @Xaiphafonese and I just had
Harry: (sometime after book 4) Sir, I have to say I don't feel very safe here any more.
Dumbledore: Ah come come my boy, what's wrong?
Harry: Well sir, one of our teachers was impersonating a friend of yours with polyjuice potion and noone noticed - and I almost died.
Dumbledore: Yes well, that's polyjuice for you.
Dumbledore: Ah yes, "almost."
Harry: ... In year three our defense against the dark arts teacher was a werewolf.
Harry: He tried to eat me!
Dumbledore: And he's one of your favorite teachers.
Harry: Not three days out of the month he's not!
Dumbledore: Come Harry, that's very small minded of you.
Harry: ... ... In year two our DADA teacher only knew one spell and had no idea what real magic was about.
Dumbledore: Ah, yes, he was very pretty.
Harry: But sir, he didn't teach us anything.
Harry: Yes, fair point but... well now I have issues with your hiring practices. Also in year one there was the three headed dog, the man eating plant, and the professor trying to kill me.
Dumbledore: Ah yes, but you became a better wizard for it.
Harry: I only know three spells! One to summon a stag that only works against dementors, one to disarm my opponent, and one that flat out kills my opponent!
Dumbledore: Yes and you're very good at them too. *beams with pride and pats Harry's shoulder* Ahead of your time, really.
Harry: *inarticulate noises of frustration*
