CSC 104 H1F
Concerning the advice I would give a student, I begin on how to prepare for the course.
Firstly , it is imperative to go to the first class where significant time will be spent on administrative issues. The lecturers will give pertinent information on the avoidance of plagiarism, the marking scheme, the marking scheme and remarking .
Secondly , go to all classes and try to answer some of the questions asked. This will help you ,the student , understand and remember ideas better than not doing it .
Thirdly, attend tutorials as much as possible .They serve three purposes. 1) Many teaching assistants and at least one professor will be there to answer any questions you have concerning course material. 2) You will have an opportunity to get clarification on the quizzes . 3) You can get much help on assignments.
The most important concept in the course is designing a function . A function is an expression that takes in value and returns another value .The value may be various things. A function is a definition which has a function header, parameters an and a function body.The function body can be composed of predefined functions in the programming language of csc104. One that comes to memory is an example we did in class. To double the appearance of an image we used the used the predefined above and beside function.We built the Sierpinski's model.
As I progressed through the course the profs posted the tests from previous years .When I saw the previous tests’ I decided to go to the tutorial. As it turns out ,this was necessary for me to be able to apply me skills on the test.
From there I got a print out of the last five exams in this course. Bit by bit I worked on them in preparation for my next test and the exam.At this point my concerns on new material being taught is to go to the last and final tutorial of this course.
In conclusion , I have enjoyed this course and its material and my time in the tutorial on Wednesdays .
