A favorite ship of mine...

Okay so let them on the dash for the third time tonight, but Brander ( @hurtpeoplearelethal) They’re one of, if not my longest-running ship and the kicker is that they were never actually a planned ship, which most of mine are. They were supposed to be a one, maybe two night stand because Xander actually had another planned ship at the time, but their connection was honestly just so pure and natural that we kept running with it. We’ve written them in like every verse and ever possible situation and they never get old and always continue to surprise us. I don’t really throw around the soulmate word with my ships, because I will ship everyone with everyone, but they really are soulmates and I love it.

At parties where they couldn’t be together, Xander would make a point of seeking out other male loving males in the same room as Bryce to talk to. He wasn’t flirting with them, but he knew that Bryce seeing them together would make his boyfriend jealous. Part of him did it because jealous Bryce meant going home or finding an empty room, but he also hoped that maybe the jealousy would help nudge the other to want to come out.

Last night had been rough. Apparently Xander and parties didn’t mix well because here he was in the hospital after getting his stomach pumped due to alcohol poisoning. Not caring how shitty he felt, he was impatiently waiting for the doctor to come back and discharge him, knowing he was getting charged for every second he was spending in this building. When a man walked in, he didn’t even think about the fact that he looked too young to be a doctor. Maybe he was just a med student. “Can I go now?” He asked, a slight rasp in his voice from the tube.

“I’m not slowing down because you’re short.” Bryce x Xander

Xander quickly fell back into step with Bryce, grabbing his hand to keep the other from speeding back up. “I’m not short you’re just on the verge of running,” He shot back as he laced their fingers together just to make it that much more difficult for his boyfriend to get away. “And you’re only a few inches taller than me, our legs are practically the same length.”

Xander had come home a lot later from work than he had planned. He had told Bryce he would only be gone for an hour, but when his customer offered double payment on the spot, it meant double time. Letting himself into his apartment, he spotted Bryce fast asleep on the couch, book in hand. “Aw B...” he whispered to himself with a sad smile. Carefully, he took the book and marked the page before grabbing a blanket and covering up his sleeping boyfriend. “Goodnight,” He whispered, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before heading into the bathroom to shower.

Xander couldn’t help but smile at the soft action, watching Bryce kiss the scratch Bella had left on his arm. “See you can’t do stuff like that,” Xander said softly, leaning in to steal a real kiss of his own. “Because you don’t want kids and seeing you do stuff like that just makes me realize how great of a dad you’d be.”

Xander absolutely loved getting to watch Benji perform. Unfortunately, he didn’t have to most control over his schedule and wasn’t always able to get off to do so. That wasn’t the case today though, he made sure weeks in advance to get the night off and sat backstage excitedly as he watched his boyfriend soundcheck and all that fun stuff. They had been hanging out for a bit, but it was time for his boyfriend to go out. Smiling at the sound of the crowd outside cheering for Benji, he walked with him as far as he could. “Have a great show,” He grinned, kissing him quickly before letting him head out.
