On Silent Circles
Preface: I have no hatred towards Zynvire or Xanii. I like their content, I just feel that Silent Circles was somewhat mishandled, and for a level I have adored for years, I want to see it use it’s potential as much as it can.
I feel that Zynvire/Xanii’s version of Silent Circles doesn’t fit what it’s supposed to be. Silent Circles is infamous for its difficulty. Even before the unyielding straight wave, the level was thought to be impossible. Now, with the influx of top players, that part is getting more and more possible. Zynvire’s version, while fantastically decorated, doesn’t feel like “Silent Circles”, and Xanii’s version nerfed it. The level lost what made it so infamous. For a level that was impossible and now could possibly be verified, it should feel vicious, hopeless, and incredibly difficult. The level should be almost arrogant, as if it is living, knowing how many attempts it has claimed, only to be defeated by one player that can step up to its challenge. It should feel like a final boss of Geometry Dash. Of course, the straight wave will need to be changed significantly, but it should stay as a Spiky Tube. The level’s exit needs to feel like you’ve escaped something abhorrent. The difficulty has to match the atmosphere. Zynvire and Xanii’s version falls short of this. The level has less life then it should.
Again, no hate towards Zynvire or Xanii, the level has fantastic decoration, I just have a different take on the level and want it to shine.
