Question: Do you have any spoilers for Castle you can share with us about some of the changes we can expect to see this season? —Mariana Ausiello: Molly Quinn’s newly shorn mane is one step in a much larger, more adult makeover for Alexis in Season 7. (Read: Someone may start having a little sex in the city.)

I really love this episode. I love how much like both Castle and Beckett Alexis is. Stubborn, strong-willed, smart with her father’s, apparently genetic, investigative abilities. I love that she uses everything she’s picked up including all her resources, which, Lanie, yes!
I also love how Caskett was presented as a united front, true partners.
While Castle has gone off on his own a lot in the past, sometimes because he felt he needed to(Target/ Hunt comes to mind where he almost completely shut Beckett out) and others because he actually had no other choice(his PI business), here he doesn’t.
He honestly feels way in over his head, he’s worried bordering on terrified, because he feels all these people’s lives depend on him. Including his daughter’s which always tends to throw him off. She might practically be a grownup who can take care of herself pretty well, but she’ll always be his baby. So he’s insecure, because if he screws up it could mean her life. So he’s literally relying on Beckett to talk him down, be that calming presence and remind him that if anyone can do this, it’s him. He’s letting her take the lead on this, which I predicted. And can only mean great things for her career in the future.
He literally needs her there. And I love that she immediately picks up on how much he really does. I don’t think he’s ever relied on anyone like that to get him through an ordeal like this to that extent. He usually shuts people out, even Beckett, to some extent. But here he’s letting her feel the extent of his trepidation and because she’s on the ground, she’s able to be more objective. She can feel the pressure, but it’s not as direct as intense as it is for him given that he’s in the middle of everything. So she’s able to be exactly what he needs.
I love it, because this man is skilled, anything Beckett can do he can do just as well. And she knows that. She trusts him to basically do her job, because he’s just as qualified. It’s funny because while in Cops & Robbers she trusts Castle, I couldn’t imagine her instructing him to take on this level of responsibility. But by now, especially in light of how well he was able to keep up with their investigations, even as a P.I. , she knows what he’s capable of.
It also never seizes to amuse me that when Castle isn’t around, Espo is Beckett’s keeper. He was long before Castle came along and I think that if something were ever to happen to Castle, he would be again.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ooooooooooooo~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I think she’d need someone and given how much you can absolutely tell he loves her, I think he’d be it. And I think she’d come to love him. She already does, as a brother. It wouldn’t be the same, she wouldn’t be as happy as she is with Castle, but eventually she’d be okay. And I think Castle would want her to be. But every once in a while on what would be the anniversary of the day he died or their wedding anniversary or his birthday or even the anniversary of the day they met, Espo would catch her staring off into space, lost in her own thoughts, and he’d gently touch her cheek, wiping a way a tear she didn’t even know she’d shed. And he’d understand. So he’d just hug her wordlessly, sighing at her sadness, silently cursing Castle even in death, telling the man he had one job, to stay alive, and he couldn’t even do that. But he must have done something right to get her to love him as she did, to make her as happy as he had. And to even now, have left her behind in a state that is a thousand times better than the one she was in before she met him. And for that, Espo’s thankful. So afterwards he’ll silently promise Castle to take care of her, to make sure she’s okay.
*I got carried away and now I’m not okay. help.
Ookay, soo, back to...whatever this is.
Let’s see, such an awesome moment near the end for Alexis. Our baby’s growing up! *snorts God, you’d swear I was twice her age #sigh
Beckett is me though, in more ways than one. Such a worry-wart. She actually stayed up all night to watch the plane reach its destination. Could she be any more protective? I don’t think so. Can you blame her? Absolutely not.
I love all of it, truly.
This is definitely one of my favorite episodes this season.
